Families across the country face real barriers to mental health care. Long waits. Too few quality providers. Systems that weren't built with them in mind.

Peg's was born from that reality. Our founder, Peg Morgan, encountered those barriers while seeking help for her son. Instead of accepting them, she set out to change them.

For 25 years, Peg's has worked to strengthen Ohio's mental health system — investing over $121 million, building more than 1,800 cross-sector partnerships, and helping ensure that when someone reaches out, care is there to meet them.

Follow along this May. We have a few things planned — including something we think Peg herself would have loved. 💚⚾

Letting go is not about giving up. According to Mid Cities Psychiatry, learning how to let go of what you can’t control is a mental and emotional skill that, if mastered, will enhance your quality of life by reducing stress and creating space for healing in your mind and body.

Affirmations can gently push your thinking in a better direction, especially when you’re trying to let go of what you can’t control or intrusive thoughts. Saying a kind phrase to yourself slowly rewires those anxious loops.

For example, say aloud "I let go of what I cannot change" or “I am calm even when answers are missing" when you're feeling stressed or anxious. Scribble these affirmations in a notebook, or stick a note on the mirror, wall, or desk where you see it every day. This practice will strengthen the habit of surrender and develop self-trust.

Peg’s Foundation was born 25 years ago on April 6, 2001.

Rooted in a philanthropic legacy that began in the 1960s—and driven by a mother’s infinite love—Peg’s was built on a simple but powerful belief: mental health is essential to overall health, and recovery from mental illness should be the expectation, not the exception.

As we mark this milestone year, we’ll be celebrating the people and organizations who have brought our mission to life while continuing to Think Bigger about what’s possible to improve the lives of people living with serious mental illness.

And we’re just getting started.
