This Veterans Day, we're honored to spotlight Stephanie, LSW & Certified First Responder Counselor - a dedicated mental health professional committed to supporting the brave individuals who serve and protect our communities and country.

With a Master's in Social Work from Dominican University and 10+ years of experience in law enforcement and social service settings, Stephanie brings a deep understanding of the unique challenges first responders and veterans face.

She specializes in first responder and veteran mental health, trauma, addiction, life transitions, and relationship stress. Stephanie provides a confidential and compassionate space to process critical incidents, build resilience, and prioritize emotional well-being.

Her approach blends CBT, mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing, grounded in a strengths-based, solution-focused lens to help individuals heal, recover, and thrive.

Outside of work, Stephanie recharges through time with her son and dog, Pilates, yoga, reading, and meaningful self-care-habits she also encourages for the heroes she serves.

Today, and every day, we honor our veterans and first responders. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and courage. Stephanie is here to support you and your families-because those who care for others deserve care, too.

Our downstairs neighbor is doing a lovely thing. Too many people are experiencing food insecurity right now. If you are a client and need a meal, Emmett's Palatine is stepping up to help our community.

We will always take donations for Faith Feeds Food Pantry in our lobby and have a giving tree set up for warm clothes and outerwear for the month of November.

We serve family favorites and brew neighborly beer. You can find us down the street in West Dundee, Palatine, Downers Grove and Wheaton. Keep an eye out for the stripes.

Struggling to set boundaries without feeling like the bad guy?

This podcast episode is for anyone who's ever struggled to say no, felt drained by unclear expectations, or wondered how to protect their peace without burning bridges.

Therapists Miranda Barker, LICSW, Letisha Harris, MA and Madison Wozniak, LCSW have an honest, practical conversation inspired by the book "Set Boundaries, Find Peace" by Nedra Glover Tawwab.

We explore:
πŸ”Ή What healthy boundaries actually look like in real life
πŸ”Ή How trauma and guilt can make boundary-setting harder
πŸ”Ή The difference between time, material, emotional, and internal boundaries
πŸ”Ή How we've grown (and stumbled) through boundary work ourselves

Whether you’re a therapist, a client, or just someone navigating the messiness of relationships, this episode offers tools and takeaways you can use right away. Here's the link to the episode on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/episode/07cgH1wdmbfORDCfHiT0Bp?si=73TM0KZzQlSqSCGyreN-lg
