You don’t need a new awareness month to know you’re stressed. You’ve probably been carrying it for a while. Putting off support doesn’t mean you don’t care. It usually just means it feels like too much to figure out. If therapy has been sitting in the “I’ll get to it” category, you’re not behind. When you’re ready, Ellie can help make that first step feel a little more manageable.

April is Counseling Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the role counseling can play in supporting mental health and well-being.

Counseling provides a supportive space where individuals can explore challenges, develop coping skills, and work toward meaningful personal growth. Whether someone is navigating stress, relationships, life transitions, or emotional challenges, counseling can offer tools and support along the way.

Seeking help is not a sign of weakness - it’s a step toward caring for your mental health.

This month, we recognize and thank counselors for the compassion, dedication, and care they bring to their work every day.

If you’d like to learn more about Counseling Awareness Month and the role counseling can play in mental wellness, visit the American Counseling Association.

April is Autism Acceptance Month, and April 2 marks World Autism Acceptance Day.

Autism acceptance focuses on promoting understanding, inclusion, and support for autistic individuals while recognizing the diversity of experiences within the autistic community.

Current research estimates that about 1 in 36 children are identified with autism, highlighting the importance of creating communities where neurodivergent individuals feel supported and respected.

Acceptance goes beyond awareness - it means creating environments where people can thrive as their authentic selves.

If you'd like to learn more about autism acceptance and ways to support inclusive communities, resources are available through the Autism Society of America.

Good sleep hygiene can help support better rest and overall mental wellness.

Small habits - like getting morning sunlight, limiting late-night screen use, and maintaining a consistent bedtime routine - can help your body regulate its natural sleep cycle.

Improving sleep doesn’t usually require drastic changes. Often, small adjustments to daily routines can lead to better rest over time.

Sleep and mental health are closely connected.

Research shows that even small disruptions to sleep can affect mood, concentration, and emotional regulation. Many adults also struggle to get enough rest, which can impact stress levels and overall well-being.

Prioritizing consistent sleep habits can support both mental and physical health over time.

Small adjustments to routines and sleep environments can make a meaningful difference.

The transition to parenthood can bring many emotions - joy, exhaustion, uncertainty, and sometimes unexpected mental health challenges.

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are more common than many people realize. Research shows that about 1 in 5 women experience perinatal mental health challenges, and 1 in 10 fathers or partners may also experience symptoms during pregnancy or in the first year after a baby is born.

These experiences can include depression, anxiety, irritability, or feeling overwhelmed - and they are common, treatable, and nothing to feel ashamed of.

If you or someone you know is navigating postpartum mental health challenges, support is available and recovery is possible.

Research suggests that women may experience unique stressors that can influence mental health, including caregiving expectations, workplace dynamics, and balancing multiple roles in daily life.

Recognizing how these social and structural factors affect well-being can help create more supportive communities and encourage open conversations about mental health.

During Women’s History Month, we celebrate the contributions of women while also acknowledging the importance of supporting women’s mental health and well-being.

Today we recognize the many women balancing work, caregiving, emotional labor, and everything in between.

Working moms often carry multiple roles at once - professional, caregiver, organizer, and support system.

That balance can be meaningful, rewarding, and sometimes exhausting.

On National Working Moms Day, we celebrate the effort it takes to show up in so many spaces and the importance of making room for support, rest, and mental health along the way.

Tag a working mom who deserves some appreciation today. ✨💗
