KOC Holy Ghost Council #4977 Catholic Men's organization of faith, community, charity, patriotism supporting our Catholic Church.

It’s that wonderful time of year again! Our annual Christmas Wreath Sale is underway.

To help reduce expenses this year, order forms will not be mailed to Brother Knights. Instead, the order form is attached to this email, and printed copies will be available at all Council meetings and events throughout the next month. Non-Knights will continue to receive their forms by mail.

Please be sure to grab a form and place your order as soon as you can. Prices remain the same as they were last year. This is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit while helping our Council raise funds to support the many worthy causes and charitable works we do throughout the year.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support.

The Annual Tootsie Roll Drive for Intellectual Disabilities is coming up in a week, Friday and Saturday, September 19 & 20st.

*** We've still got a lot of slots open at all corners and stores, ***
so we're making one more appeal to you worthy council members, families and friends to step up and help out God's Special People once again this year! We've got the locations all set, now we really need to get more volunteers to work them! If you're able and don't yet have a work assignment, please consider helping at a corner or store! We definitely can use extra help at all times and locations!

Please contact Bernie Bojarski at bjbojarski@outlook.com, or text to 847-707-0818. We need everyone's help to make this year's drive a success!

The Tootsie Rolls have arrived and are ready to be handed out! This means we are now equipped to begin the Intellectual Disability (“ID”) Drive Corporate Sales Program to expand our reach in helping the special needs individuals. This program is in addition to the ID, or “Tootsie Roll,” Drive on the streets and stores of Palatine. Through the Corporate Sales Program we ask local businesses for donations to this worthy cause.

Now we need volunteers to help contact and visit local businesses for donations. We are seeking to get $100 or more in donations from local businesses. For a $100 or more donation, they may receive a case of 300 Tootsie Rolls and a display basket.

Please consider volunteering to help out with this worthy cause. We have six volunteers to date. The more we get the greater the impact we can make to help those special needs individuals.

If you cannot help out with this program, but would like to donate to this worthy cause, you may send or deliver a check, payable to “Knights of Columbus Council 4977,” to my attention at the below address. You may also pay online via credit or debit card using the QR Code on the attached tax deduction letter.

If you can help out, please contact me. I plan on sending out marketing materials to all volunteers early next week.
Thank you for your consideration!

The Annual Tootsie Roll Drive for Intellectual Disabilities is coming up soon, Friday and Saturday, September 19th & 20th. We'd like to appeal to all council members to help! Once again, this year, the captains have again really stepped up in getting the store and corner locations, but honestly so far we're very light on volunteers, so we have a lot of open slots.

I need several helpers for Saturday 6 September at 6pm for the soccer challenge which coincides with the St. Theresa Bonfire.

I need helpers to register kids, set up the balls, gather balls, mark scores and get stray balls. We can also use someone who walks around with the prize balls and gets kids to participate as well as moral boosting (bringing food and beer to the rest of the workers.)

With eight guys we can get this done well. The bonfire and soccer challenge follow the 5pm mass at the back field of St. Theresa.

The annual Summerfest at St. Thomas of Villanova is coming up on Saturday, August 2nd, running from noon to 9 PM. Brother Knights will be setting up early on Friday to ensure we’re ready to go on Saturday.

Once again, our Council will be serving up our crowd-favorite roasted sweet corn—and we could use your help!

Here’s how you can pitch in:
• Grills Needed:
Last year went great with multiple grills in action, so we’re hoping to borrow about 6 Weber grills again this year. If you’re able to lend one, you can drop it off at St. Thomas any time before the event. Please reach out to Brother Jim DeGuilio at 847-494-3521 to coordinate.
• Volunteer Opportunities:
We’ll need help throughout the day with grilling, husking, buttering, and serving the corn. Whether you can stay for a few hours or the whole event, your time is greatly appreciated!
• What to Wear:
Feel free to wear a Summerfest shirt from a previous year, or something cool and lightweight. There’s not much shade, so bring a hat if you need one!

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!
