Through an organization I helped found I have the great pleasure of working with Veterans in some fashion every day of every week. In the last 14 years I've talked to a whole lot of these folks - and I have never heard ANY of them talk s**t about another soldiers service. JD Vance and the Trump train are stepping on a third rail here. Not a good look.

I'll be the 1st to tell you I wasn't a very good parent. I loved them and believed in them - I worried about them constantly. My greatest fear was losing any one of those priceless souls God had seen fit to bless my life with. Nick, and then Chaz, enlisted in the military. I worried. I am grateful beyond words that my sons are safe and sound - and I owe a debt I'll die trying to pay for that alone. It's why I work with Veterans through Soldier Songs and Voices. My heart breaks for every soldier, active or inactive, that we lose. My heart breaks for the Moms and Dads and families who bear a loss, a pain so severe, that the mere thought steals my breath. God Bless the truly broken hearted.
