Letās talk TTC! Or even thinking about it within the next year. (Bookmark for later use!)
1) Get to know your cycle. Check your temperature daily throughout the month. Prior to ovulation a normal BBT (taken first thing upon waking up) is between 97-97.5 degrees F. And rises post ovulation, after a slight dip, to about 98+. Tracking this even prior to trying gives us a great idea of what your hormones are doing throughout the cycle.
2) learn about the hormones we produce as females. When they are present, what they do, why they are needed. Hereās a start: estrogen, FSH, LH, testosterone, progesterone.
3) Diet: eliminate cold and raw foods, lower caffeine and alcohol intake, eat organic hormone free meats, more alkaline foods than acidic, supplement with Vitamin B6 (helps metabolize excess estrogen and improve progesterone levels) or female nutritive royal jelly.
4) pay attention to symptoms that may be ācommon ā but not ānormal ā related to cycle imbalances: Acne or skin problems, anxiety, thyroid problems, PMS, depression, vaginal dryness or lack of cervical fluid, low libido , fatigue, inability to lose weight, excessive facial hair, mood swings, hot flashes and/ or night sweats.
5) nourish your kidneys. The kidneys are the foundation of reproduction in Chinese medicine. Eat warm foods. Get plenty of rest. Keep the feet and uterus warm. (Warm pack on the uterus at night and socks) . Having no or little libido during ovulation is a good indicator that the kidney yang is deficient.
