Some of the most common questions I get: “Do I need a blepharoplasty or ptosis repair?” The answer depends on what’s actually causing the heaviness. Excess skin is one thing, but if the eyelid itself is sitting too low, that’s a different issue entirely. Many patients actually have a combination of both, which is why a proper exam matters more than guessing.

“Will insurance cover eyelid surgery?” If your eyelids are blocking your vision, it may be considered functional and eligible for coverage. If it’s purely cosmetic, it typically isn’t. The key is documenting how much it’s affecting your visual field—not just how it looks.

“Will people be able to tell I had eyelid surgery?” The goal is never to make you look different—it’s to make you look like yourself, just more rested. Incisions are carefully placed within natural creases so they heal discreetly. Most people will notice you look better… not that you had anything done.
