Your gut and your skin are more connected than you think, and if your skin isn’t responding to treatments the way it should, your gut might be the reason why.✨
I see it all the time: clients who are doing everything right with their skincare routine, but their skin is still breaking out, inflamed, or just not improving. They’re using the right products, coming in for treatments, staying consistent—and yet nothing seems to stick.
That’s when we need to look deeper. Because sometimes, the issue isn’t on the surface. It’s internal.
Your gut microbiome directly affects inflammation levels in your entire body, including your skin. When your gut is out of balance, whether from stress, diet, antibiotics, or digestive issues—it shows up on your face as acne, redness, sensitivity, eczema, or chronic inflammation that won’t calm down no matter what you put on it.
I can treat your skin from the outside with facials, peels, and products. But if your gut is creating chronic inflammation, topical care will only go so far. Healing your skin sometimes means supporting your gut too, through probiotics, reducing inflammatory foods, managing stress, and staying hydrated.
If your skin has been stubborn and unresponsive despite your best efforts, it’s worth considering what’s happening internally. You’re not broken, and you’re not doing anything wrong. You might just need to address the root cause, not just the symptoms.
