Posture isn’t just about how you look—it’s about how your body functions.

When your posture is off, it can increase pressure on your pelvic floor, affect how you breathe, and disrupt the way your core muscles work together. Over time, that can lead to issues like leaking, pelvic pain, pressure, or even constipation.

If you’re noticing any pelvic symptoms—or just don’t feel aligned—pelvic floor physical therapy can help you reconnect with your posture, your breath, and your strength from the inside out.

Call 561-288-2990 to schedule an appointment with a board certified pelvic floor physical therapist who can help.

It might not be the most glamorous topic—but how you go to the bathroom matters more than you think.

Straining during a bowel movement puts pressure on your pelvic floor—and over time, that can lead to or worsen symptoms like hemorrhoids, prolapse, leaking, and pelvic pain.

Here’s how to support your body instead:
- Sit with your feet flat and knees slightly above your hips (use a stool if needed)
- Lean forward slightly with a straight back
- Breathe—don’t hold your breath or push hard

If you’re regularly straining, feeling incomplete emptying, or experiencing symptoms like leaking or pressure, that’s a sign your body could use some support.

Call 561-288-2990 to schedule an evaluation with a board certified pelvic floor physical therapist. We’re here to help you get things moving—without the strain.

Perineal pain after childbirth is extremely common—yet rarely talked about.

Studies show that 70–80% of women experience perineal pain in the postpartum period. This discomfort can come from tearing, episiotomy, scar tissue, muscle tension, or nerve sensitivity. And while it may be common, it’s not something you have to live with.

If you’re experiencing pain while sitting, walking, going to the bathroom, or during intimacy, pelvic floor physical therapy can help.

Our board certified pelvic floor physical therapists provide one-on-one care to:
- Improve scar tissue mobility and sensitivity
- Reduce pelvic floor tension and pain
- Support tissue healing and muscle coordination
- Help you return to daily activity without fear or discomfort

You deserve to heal fully and understand your body.

If you’ve been told you might need surgery for leaking, pelvic pressure, or things “not feeling the same” after childbirth—you’re not alone.

These symptoms are very real—and so is the frustration that comes with them. But what many people don’t realize is that pelvic floor physical therapy is the recommended first step for many of these issues.

Before jumping to surgery, conservative care can often make a meaningful difference—by helping the muscles that support your bladder, bowels, and pelvic organs work the way they’re supposed to.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help with:
- Urinary or f***l incontinence
- Pelvic organ prolapse or heaviness
- Pain with intimacy or pelvic exams
- Bladder urgency, frequency, or incomplete emptying
- Postpartum and post-surgical recovery

If you’re navigating symptoms or weighing options, we’re here to help you explore what’s possible—starting with care that’s gentle, effective, and rooted in your body’s ability to heal.

Urinary symptoms after childbirth are common—and treatable.

Many women experience bladder changes in the postpartum period, including:
- Urinary incontinence: Leaking urine with sneezing, coughing, exercise, or urgency
- Urinary urgency or frequency: Feeling like you need to go often, urgently, or not making it in time
- Difficulty emptying your bladder: Slow stream, straining, or feeling like you didn’t fully empty

These symptoms often result from changes in pelvic floor muscle strength, coordination, or tissue support after pregnancy and delivery.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can address the underlying cause—helping restore bladder control, reduce urgency, and improve emptying.

Let’s talk about how to breathe—properly.
Diaphragmatic breathing (also called belly breathing) helps activate your deep core and pelvic floor, reduce tension, and support healthy posture.

Try this simple breathing exercise:
✔️ Sit upright on an exercise ball with your feet flat and knees at 90°
✔️ Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly
✔️ Inhale slowly through your nose—feel your belly expand outward
✔️ Exhale gently through your mouth—feel your belly fall
✔️ Keep your chest still and your shoulders relaxed

Aim for 5–10 slow breaths. Practice daily to reconnect your breath, core, and pelvic floor.

Small shift. Big impacts.

As your baby grows, your posture shifts, your abdominal muscles stretch, and the weight on your spine increases. It’s no surprise that your back starts to ache.

But just because it’s common doesn’t mean it’s something you have to suffer through.

Back pain during pregnancy can show up as:
- A dull ache in your lower back
- Sharp pain with certain movements
- Pain that worsens after standing or walking

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help by:
- Improving posture and spinal alignment

As your belly grows during pregnancy, your center of gravity shifts—and your body works overtime to keep you upright. That shift in posture can quietly strain your spine, hips, and pelvic floor, leading to pain that many women chalk up as “normal.”

But pain during pregnancy isn’t just something to push through.
It can look like:
- Aching in your lower back or hips
- Sharp pain in the tailbone or p***c bone
- A feeling of pressure or misalignment in the pelvis

These are signs that your body is adapting—and may need support. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help by:
- Realigning posture and reducing strain
- Strengthening your pelvic and core muscles
- Helping you move and feel better as your body changes

You deserve to feel strong, supported, and pain-free during pregnancy.
