Osumare is the combined essence of duality between the divine feminine and divine masculine energies, and is one of the greatest signs that the origins of the universe and the almighty may be comprised of both energies. Osumare is the essence of the multi colored light spectrum that brings the 3D realm into existence (the multi colored spectrum bridge of creation). A glimpse of these ethereal bands of energy and light is seen on the earthly realm as the Rainbow. This is the expression of Olodumare’s mysterious process of creation to and through Obatala (aswell as other Orishas because creation is a combined effort through many Orishas, which are aspects of Olodumare’s power). This is why the umbilical cord is owned by Osumare, because the cord is connected to the placenta which holds and transfers light energy that is received through the mothers consumption of food. This allows the babies body to grow and develop in the womb (Hence, the umbilical cord is shaped like a serpent). The umbilical cord is the internal physical example of what takes place in the heavens, as the sun shines its light and nutritional source on the planet bringing forth life. Osumare is the Divine Rainbow Colored Serpent that not only bridges the essence of creation from Orun (Heaven) and the realm of the Ancestors to Ayé (Earth), but is also the energy spiral up the chakra ladder of spiritual consciousness (The Kundalini[Our Light Body or Soul That is Seated At The Base Of The Spine]). These same multi colored bands are responsible for sending the soul back to Orun, which is why Oyá is seen with the multi-colored pattern, and eggun is represented by the multi colors. Orun and the Realm of the Ancestors is the origin point of the multi colored bands of light and energy, that brings our realm into existence, and Osumare is the traveling essence of this energy.
