Hi there,
If you’re feeling anxious right now, you’re not alone...
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 13 people suffers from some kind of anxiety and anxiety issues are the most common mental disorders worldwide.
It’s no wonder that sufferers are continually seeking new ways to alleviate their condition and ‘just feel better’.
There’s no denying that one of the main reasons people take CBD is because they believe it helps with their anxiety. Although CBD has not been approved by the FDA as a treatment for anxiety*, anecdotal evidence and some studies suggest it may help some people.
Where’s the proof?
Many users of CBD rave about its therapeutic benefits and say it compliments a relaxation routine that can help reduce over-thinking and promote a good night’s rest.
Although more research is desperately needed, there are a few studies that suggest CBD could help with anxiety.
For generalized anxiety, the National Institute on Drug Abuse has reported that CBD can reduce stress in animal subjects.
A 2019 study of Japanese teenagers with social anxiety disorder (SAD) showed that taking 300mg daily for four weeks reduced symptoms, providing similar results to the prescription drug Paroxetine.
How much CBD should you take for anxiety?
Because the FDA is yet to recognize CBD as medication for anxiety, there are no official dosage guidelines.
CBD appears to be safe with little to no side effects, but it’s still recommended you take a cautious approach to dosing. Start with small doses and if well tolerated, gradually work up until you feel the desired results.
We urge you to do your own research, read reviews and speak to existing users to help you decide for yourself.
