“Be like Mary”

Isn’t it interesting that the first day of the new year is also celebrated as the Feast Day of the Solemnity of Mary in the Catholic Church?

To start the new year, we are called to “Be like Mary”, to be obedient and faithful, joyful and always hopeful for the best is yet to come🙏🏻

When my Mama passed away, who is our family’s faithful prayer warrior, I prayed to ask Mama Mary to be our family’s guiding light and intercede for me and my family. Mama Mary truly is a guiding light who never fails to intercede our prayers.

May our days be joyful and holy like Mary, and that we spend our days as faithful stewards of our community, who are truly highly favored like Mary. ✨

Today, was a beautiful day spent with people who matter most and truly it is that beautiful moments only happens when we stay present and mindful ✨

(Yes, trust that process!)

I heard our art instructor said many times during this painting session, “It can be scary at first - Don’t be afraid, Trust the process.” 🙏🏻 I know it’s about our artwork, but it resonated with me while I was painting.

And in this life when some people say we take too much space, either we speak our minds too much, or we do so much to advocate for ourselves and others, in my opinion, we should continue to reflect what space we take and who we take when we occupy these spaces.

Fellow Nurses, trust the process… use your voice. ✨

As Nurses, we have the power to leverage this space we take.. for ourselves, for our family, for our friends, our colleagues, our community, and most importantly, our patients.

Continue to occupy a space to share your light.
Stay bold and brave, be fearless. ✨

It was an honor to present Florida Nurses Association’s Legislative and Regulatory Policy Platform at the Palm Beach Legislative Delegation Session to our Palm Beach Legislative Delegation Committee.

In the Legislative Delegation Session, we presented:

✅ The importance of recurrent funds for the Florida Center for Nursing to support the nursing workforce

✅Our advocacy for passing the Surgical Smoke Evacuation Law to advocate for the safety of our healthcare colleagues and patients

✅Our support for Autonomous Practice of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) in Florida to full extent

✅Safe delegation and safe nurse staffing

✅ Safe practice environment for all nurses and our patients, including strengthening laws about workplace violence

Together with Dr. Deidre Kraus, Dr. Cynthia Tagliaferri, and Mara Raggi, MSN, PHN, NE-BC, RNC-NIC, we proudly represented over 440,000 Nurses in Florida.

Fellow Nursing Colleagues, we have a voice.

Florida Nurses Association (FNA) Southeast Region led by Dr. Cynthia Tagliaferri, FNA Southeast Region Director, presented FNA’s Legislative and Regulatory Policy Platform at the Legislative Delegation meetings in Okeechobee County, Martin County, and St. Lucie County in South Florida this week.

To witness this legislative effort is a great opportunity to show support to fellow nurses, and connect with our local legislators to support policy changes that will enhance the health of our community.
