Here is a another reason to read the ingredients on everything! Shame on Target, they added Mineral Oil to their sourdough bread. Not a good choice for food. Never seen this in a bread before.

I wish our politicians would help us remove the poisonous ingredients in our food chain causing so much disease. We have so many dyes and preservatives and artificial ingredients, that are illegal in Europe, the UK, and other Countries. Giant agricultural conglomerates are literally getting away with murder, by not rotating the crops and using so many GMO foods. Corn, now that over 90% is GMO, is linked to several gastrointestinal diseases.

Our immune systems reflect our health, and a great immune booster is my superfood smoothie. The receipe is simple:

1 cucumber, peeled
1 apple, cored
1 stalk celery
Handful baby kale
several leaves fresh Italian parsley
1/2 tsp. chia seeds
1 Cup water
2 ice cubes

blend in Ninja or other blender for 30 seconds.
My favorite apple is fuji for this, it adds more sweetness. You can use an English cucumber for less froth.
The chia seeds remove heavy metals and toxins from your blood.

Here is my chopped salad recipe. I am still having requests for it and people are saying they are having trouble finding it.
I don’t use portions here since everyone will be cooking for either one or many people and can figure out how much of everything to use. If anyone has questions, please feel free to reach out, I am always here to help!
Remember to chop everything unless stated:

The Chicken:
Organic tenders, washed, cleaned, dried,
Seasoning: I prefer to use Organic Paprika, Organic onion powder, black pepper, and dried basil and a bit of Natures’ seasonings. Then drizzle a tiny bit of EVOO. Grill or cook as desired. If using Salmon, use a small fillet and season ( I use only Lemon pepper and tarragon, but use your favorite rub if so desired:
I always try to use as much organic produce as possible. :

The Basic salad:

Romaine & Butter lettuce,
Spinach and baby kale leaves
Shredded carrots
Peeled Cucumber
Celery
Mushrooms
Cherub tomatoes, sliced in half
A slice of apple chopped up for extra texture if you don’t mind fruit in your salad. It has less sugar than raisins or dried sweetened cranberries. Try a fuji, that is a great apple in a salad.
The Extra touch:
Choose one or 2 of these ingredients to add a bit of flair to the salad and change it up to keep it fun and delicious:
• Sautéed riced cauliflower or sautéed zucchini and serve over the salad warm, the extra texture and warmth with the cold gives the salad an extra layer of yum.
• Beans, either White cannellini or red kidney. They add fiber and protein to your meal.
• Chopped mint leaf
• A few croutons
• A sprinkle of organic cheese if you like it.
• A couple of chopped nuts if you like them, I use pistachio now and again. Use your favorite!

Dress with a flavored Olive oil and balsamic, I also occasionally use Marie’s Balsamic, it is lower in sugar and fat. just no sugary commercial dressings please!

With modern medicine being primarily reactive, you can be proactive in this time of scary news and know that you do have control of your health! Just by eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, adding fresh fish, or fish oil and more water to your diet and cutting back on processed food and sugary sodas, you are strengthening your immune system naturally. Don't forget the dose of fresh air and sunshine!! 🌺

During these fires in CA, many of us including myself are breathing in smoke, and ash, which is remnants of some really nasty stuff!
what I urge you to do in addition to all the air cleaners and masks is clean your body a bit on the INSIDE!
Use 1/4 tsp Chia seeds in all your shakes, soups and salads for the next week, they are great for removing toxins and heavy metals from your body.
Just a little more help to get us through this difficult time.
