I had the honor of attending my final birth of 2021! I have witnessed so many incredible things this year. To be able to walk alongside and support people through this incredible journey has become my life. I am so grateful for every mama who has trusted me to be apart of their journey.

I’m extra thankful for ! Thank you for encouraging me to attend training and trusting me to support you through such an intimate moment. I love you!!!

2021 taught me so many things, but most importantly I learned to let go of expectations and embrace the unexpected. I am so passionate about what I do and so blessed to have found my calling. I cannot wait to see what 2022 will hold.

Doulas are an essential part of the birth team!!!
Formal studies on the benefit of labor support began in the 1970’s when Drs. John Kenner & Marshall Klaus found that women with a committed trained female support during their labor not only demonstrated  greater bonding with their baby, but they also had a lower incidence of medical intervention during their births. This pattern has continued overwhelmingly in research on doulas since that initial study. The most comprehensive and largest study, published in 2011, found that in a sample of over 15,000 women, those with a fully trained doula (in contrast to only hospital staff and/or family members) had the best birth outcomes and the lowest incidence of medical interventions.
