In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we savored the flavors of Guatemala. Known as the birthplace of chocolate, Guatemalan cuisine blends Mayan tradition with Spanish influences to create vibrant and tasty dishes for this month's Taste of Atria.

On the menu: tostones with guacamole, Pollo A La Lena, Beef enchiladas, refried black beans, cucumber salad, and tres leches cake.

Our Chef Alfonso was born in Guatemala, and he was very excited to prepare the recipes and add his own special flair to the meal. We are all proud of our Culinary Team and how they create delicious meals for our monthly Taste of Atria events.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month! 🌮 🇬🇹

We came together for Rosh Hashanah, marking this meaningful holiday with warmth and tradition. We celebrated hopes for a sweet new year with apples and honey.

At 92, Roslyn, a resident at Atria Tarzana, still arrives early for her hospital volunteer shifts, bright blue jacket on, ready to help. For 13 years, she’s delivered flowers, transported patients and run errands with a smile. Beyond the tasks, she’s built friendships and found purpose that keep her energized in retirement.

This year our annual Senior Prom theme, The Enchanted Garden, was a success, with residents dazzling in their finest attire while enjoying some delicious hors d'oeuvers and desserts and reminiscing about their own prom experiences. Rupert and Susan, our newly crowned King and Queen, both originally from England, formed an instant bond within our community, embodying the spirit of connection that defines us. Staff danced with residents and residents danced with each other creating a memorable afternoon. 💐 💃 🕺 🥂 🍾

At Atria Forest Hills, there is an extraordinary culinary duo leading the kitchen. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

The Director of Culinary Services, Stacey, and Cook, Javier, bring passion and creativity to every dish – from Chicken Florentine to resident favorites like meatballs and tiramisu. Stacey followed her dream of becoming a chef after studying nursing, and Javier finds joy in crafting meals from scratch and seeing residents’ smiles in return. "I really find fulfillment from positive feedback, especially from residents," Javier says.

We celebrate Stacey, Javier and all of our awesome culinary teams for the flavor, care and heart they bring to our communities every day.

Memory care residents at Atria Newport Beach had a great time making no bake mini cinnamon rolls. "They were easy to make, smelled absolutely delicious and were very tasty," reported Lucia, the community's Memory Care Director.

Residents had such a good time today and when we introduced the Human Slot Machine we heard so much laughter and everyone enjoyed all the delicious appetizers that our Culinary Team provided. We drew several Power ball numbers throughout the event to give everyone a chance to win something even if they chose not to gamble. We did have one Grand Prize Winner with the most chips at the end of the event. Lady luck was on everyone's side.... 🎲 🃏 ♦️ ♠️ 🍤 🍹 🍾 🎰

If you've practiced yoga, you've probably heard of downward dog, cat and cow, and maybe even donkey pose, but have you ever heard of chair yoga with goats and llamas?!

Residents from Atria Lincoln Place stretched and smiled alongside the adorable animals at Roots Heaven Farm.

Mel, one of the residents who attended, even came decked out in her farm finery – a pink cowgirl hat.

HAPPY Assisted Living Week! ❤️ We celebrated our dedicated and compassionate employees this week while treating them to several days of delicious snacks and lunch that included - In And Out Burgers, A Starbucks Coffee Station and lunch from Castaneda’s Restaurant as well as a Football Jersey day to show their Team Spirit. We know it's the little things that can make all the difference.

Javon, Resident Services Assistant at Atria Park of Ann Arbor, was awarded "Employee of the Month" for always going above and beyond for residents. His fellow teammates appreciate that he goes out of his way to make sure residents feel their best, and does it all with a smile.

Recently, he assisted Lorna to dinner and realized something wasn't quite right. "She always likes to wear her earrings and look her best," he shares. "So I went back to get them for her. She needed those earrings to feel like herself!"

Grandparents’ Day was extra special this year! Leading up to the celebration our residents chose some “Stuffies” to stay with them for a week. The stuffed animals joined in several Engage Life Activities, shopping, meals, adventures with friends - and we captured it all in photos to share with their grandchildren. Residents the created photo albums to give to their grandchildren.

We had “Muffins with Grands” along with coffee this morning. Then we played a fun game of bingo with residents.

Please join us in welcoming Christian and Dulce to the Hacienda team! 👏 ❤️

Christian will be our Resident Services Coordinator, and in this role, he will be supporting our Resident Services Director and working with our residents.

Dulce will be our Resident Services Supervisor, and in her role, she will be supporting our Med Techs and over seeing the Medication room.

They both are very happy to be here and be a part of the Atria Family. Working with seniors is a passion for both of them.

Vive la France! 🇫🇷

Bonjor. Merci to everyone who joined our Taste of Atria Dinner that spotlighted France. Culinary made a delicious dinner with classic French food and desert that created a fun Parisian atmosphere. After dinner residents also enjoyed the screening of the movie "Julie and Julia" Our Book Club read "The Paris Wife" by Paula McLain while enjoying some French champagne and pastries. 🇫🇷 🥐 🍾 🥂 📚

We embraced the spirit of nature with our Great Outdoors Social Series event! 🌄

We mixed things up at the trail mix bar, S'mores, Sleeping bags (pigs in a blanket), and refreshing drinks while we watched videos about local natural landscapes and wildlife as well as Yosemite National Park and the Firefall on El Capitan. Our Life Guidance Residents enjoyed some music and dancing while singing along with entertainment. 🏕️ 🏞️ 🌳 🍃 🌴

Happy National Book Lovers Day! Our community hosted a book fair to celebrate residents’ love of reading. From thrilling mysteries and heartfelt memoirs to classic romances and historical fiction, there was something for every book lover to enjoy. We had some delicious donuts and coffee as we discussed our love of books. This week residents also enjoyed creating one of a kind bookmarks for themselves and to give to other book lovers. ❤️ 📚 🔖 🍩

There’s nothing quite like getting lost in a good story – and sharing that joy with others.
