He received his first Masters of Science Degree in Endocrinology with a minor in Anatomy from Wayne State University (Detroit). He attended the University of Detroit Dental School and graduated summa cm laude and Valedictorian of his dental school class. Upon completion he was accepted into their Graduate Orthodontic program and received his second MS in Orthodontics and a Certificate in Orthodon
tics. During his education he has received numerous awards and is a member of OKU Honors Fraternity and Alpha Omega Fraternity. He has practiced In Palm Harbor since 1983 specializing in Adolescent and Adult Orthodontics and is an Invisalign Certified Provider. He currently serves on the Oral Surgery Teams at both Morton Plant/Mease Hospital and University Community Hospital in Tampa. Dr. Duryea is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontist (AAO), World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), the American Association of Functional Orthodontists (AAOF), the American Dental Association (ADA) the Academy of General Dentists (AGD), the Florida Dental Association (FDA) and the Upper Pinellas County Dental Association (UPCDA),and has been elected to Who's Who Publications. He is an Advisory Board member of the Pinnacle Study Club and has served as a Board Member of the Palm Harbor University High School Medical Magnet Program. With degrees in both Education and Dentistry, he was uniquely qualified to play an instrumental role in developing the Magnet school's dental program. Dr. Duryea is the Originator of the first 24K gold brace, the Midas Bracket System, which is currently the world leader in aesthetic metal braces. he and his family have lived in Florida since 1980. Dr. Duryea is a Halloween aficionado and produces an elaborate yard haunt at his residence yearly. He uses this event to support charities including Susan G. Komen for the cure and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Besides Orthodontics and Halloween his passions include golf, cooking and music .Dr. Duryea maintains a small, highly trained staff that allows for individual attention to his patients. His relaxed demeanor and "open office" concept makes orthodontic visits enjoyable for all.
