Swimmer’s shoulder is a common problem and needs to be addressed in a thoughtful way. Swimmers need the ability to create stability, in an unstable environment. Different forms of crawling, and hands on the ground overhead work, encourage and build a strong rotator cuff, a strong and mobile scapula (shoulder blade) and an overall improved ability to create upper body tension. This is key to avoiding and rehabilitating swimmer’s shoulder. The exercises shown here are advanced, this swimmer did not start here. Overhead and advanced positions need to be earned through proper progression and programming of exercise. Find a PT that understands your sport, that understands progression and is willing to challenge you as an athlete with more than tiny bands and little weights. Athletes expect to do great things, and therefore their rehab needs to prepare them for the extreme demands of sport. Reach out to me and we can discuss your athletic goals! Brian 602-502-6762
