The Desert Healthcare District is proud to host the Women’s Wellness Clinic at the annual California CareForce event, taking place at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio this weekend.

In partnership with The Pink Journey Foundation and DPMG Health, the clinic will provide essential preventive services for women, including mammograms and Pap smears — helping increase access to early detection and lifesaving care in our community.

Services will continue on Saturday, February 28, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If you are the parent of young children or teenagers in the Coachella Valley, then you have probably experienced the frustration of not finding pediatric care in our community.

Here’s some good news: A Palm Springs clinic known as DPMG Health recently extended its services to offer pediatric care to local children. That’s right, you no longer have to travel outside the valley for a variety of services, including immunizations for school and sports physicals.

Jax Kelly | Aging With HIV: Advocacy, Health, and Community

In this episode of Healthy Desert Healthy You, host Will Dean sits down with Jax Kelly, Founder and President of the Aging and HIV Institute and President of Let's Kick ASS Palm Springs, for an insightful conversation on aging with HIV. Jax shares his personal journey following his HIV diagnosis, how medical advances have transformed HIV into a manageable chronic condition, and why people living with HIV are now aging in unprecedented numbers. The discussion explores the intersection of HIV services and aging services, the role of the Older Americans Act, and California's efforts to recognize older adults with HIV as a population of greatest social need. Together, they highlight the importance of education, advocacy, community engagement, and inclusive planning to reduce stigma, address isolation, and ensure healthier aging for all.

Change is underway at SunLine Transit Agency, the Coachella Valley's public transportation resource, and residents can influence the future of transportation. Join us at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, for our monthly Board meeting, where SunLine CEO Mona Babauta will give the agency's "Rides Reimagined" presentation.

We will also remember the life and service of former Board Director Arthur Shorr, who died on Feb. 8.
