Meet Kia Goodrich✨

Hello! My name is Lakia, and I am here to be your warm and helpful first point of contact at Ebony’s Safe Space. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Cal Poly Pomona in 2018 and have built a diverse professional background over the last decade that centers on client support and efficient operations. 
I bring over 10 years of expertise in customer service and have developed strong organizational and communication skills through various roles.

My experience includes four years as a Property Manager, 6 years as a Marketing Manager as well as working as a High School Secretary and an HR Representative for a charter school network. These roles have given me extensive experience in managing sensitive information, streamlining complex tasks, and providing a discreet, reliable point of contact.

I am passionate about ensuring every client and colleague feels supported, heard, and valued from the moment they contact our agency. I look forward to assisting you and making sure your time with us is seamless!

Today my team and I held space with the amazing Sylvia Garner from . She led us in a Wisdom Circle to remind us of why we do this work and provided us with holistic ways to think about how to be a mentor to the youth and adults we serve. It’s not just about “outcomes”. She shared how it is also about consistency, relationships, connection, and being a part of someone’s village. Thank you so much Sylvia for your time and intention in facilitating your workshop with my team today🫶🏾

I told myself, when I began to bring on other clinicians to Ebony’s Safe Space, that I would be intentional about pouring into them as they develop as practitioners. I pray that they felt that today and always❤️🤞🏾

Today Ebony Wilson, LCSW met with the amazing parents, district administrators and community partners of the Eastside Union School District to discuss the upcoming parent workshops facilitated by Mrs. Wilson herself✨

It is such a great honor to be a part of the amazing work that is being done by the for the East Lancaster community.

Ebony’s Safe Space takes a Bioecological Model of Human Development approach by providing assistance to most of the adults the student interacts with on a daily basis. We do this by facilitating parent workshops, professional staff development workshops, group therapy, individual therapy and weekly consultation meetings with school counselors and administrative staff.

Our mission is to continue to provide relatable mental health services, not just to the client but to the entire community❤️

Good morning family, we are expanding! In our efforts to continue to serve the Antelope Valley community we will need to bring on additional team members. Wow! That’s so exciting just to think about.

If you are an Associate/Licensed Mental Health professional seeking a part time position, with flexible hours, on-site training, group consultations, a great team, and competitive pay then I encourage you to apply for this position.

We are currently seeking someone who can commit 2 days out of the week (10-20 hours) to support our clients.

In addition to providing services to students you will also be assigned clients from the Department of Children and Family Services and other community-based clients. Furthermore, there are other opportunities such as facilitating parent workshops and professional staff development workshops if you are interested.

Greetings everyone,

What does this season of Thanks means to me? I am glad you asked😁

It means to practice gratefulness and give thanks to those who care for you and are there for you throughout the year. It’s also a time of reflection, to reflect on all of the things we are grateful and thankful for. Both little and small. Both good and not so good.

As for me, I am thankful to God, my family, my team, and my community. I’m thankful to be able to change/save lives one day at a time. I’m thankful for all the blessings and the lessons.

In this season of thanks, I challenge you to take a mindfulness moment to reflect on all of the things you are grateful and thankful for. Say them out loud. Right them down. Put it in the atmosphere.

I pray you all take this time to relax and reset. Take care everyone🙏🏾

Our 1st Annual Ebony’s Safe Space “Staff Appreciation Day” was a huge success! The theme was Giving People Their Flowers While They Can Smell Them🌹

I cannot do this work alone and I appreciate my husband, my son, my team, my big brother Wyking who was there for me when it was just an idea and has never left.

The cool part about being the boss is that I too know how it feels to be on the front line, what it feels like to be burnt out, pouring your heart and soul into the work and not feeling seen, heard or appreciated. I never want that for my team.

I am so thankful to the amazing clinicians, interns, and my wonderful administrative assistant who help me to serve the Antelope Valley community every single day!

It’s only going to get better. Ebony’s Safe Space is here to stay and one of my greatest duties is to ensure the people who are caring for the community feels cared for too❤️🙏🏾
