As a cofounding organization of Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance (PLIDA), Resolve Through Sharing is encouraging RTS-trained support persons and Coordinators to act now. Hurry! Let your voice be heard. Support stillbirth prevention.

PLIDA is requesting your support on an upcoming Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act of 2022 S.3797 and H.R.7011. This will be presented before the 117th Congress closes on December 15, 2022. The bill expands the scope of the Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant to include research and activities to prevent stillbirths.

What can you do?

I am asking for your support of the Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act of 2022 S.3797 and H.R.7011. This will be presented before the 117th Congress on December 15, 2022. The bill expands the scope of the Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant to include research and activities to prevent stillbirths. According to a recent study, nearly 1 in 4 stillbirths are potentially preventable. The Maternal and Child Health Stillbirth Prevention Act of 2022 will address this injustice so more babies experience a healthy birth and make it home with their families.

All available data suggests we can make progress through this bill to help reverse this shocking trend of stillbirths and maternal health inequities in the United States.

Thank you for your consideration of these vital initiatives and for your support of healthy babies and healthy families in the United States.

2. Encourage your colleagues, friends, and family to take action as well.

3. Engage in the conversation on social media by including .

October is Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Month, and , we will forever have footprints on our hearts.

This October we at PALS are honoring Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness month by telling the stories of the precious babies who brought us to PALS. We wouldn't be here in this community without them. They are the thread that tie us all together. We love them and miss them, and this month we want the world to that , we are forever changed.

Join us in telling their stories and honoring their memories. Here are some ways you can participate:

💕 Use the hashtag on Instagram, and we may feature your post in our Instagram Stories. Here on Facebook, look for opportunities throughout the month to tell us about your family and babies through special posts.

💕 Add PALS' Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Month frame to a favorite photo and post it as your Facebook profile image or on your social media feeds to spread awareness. Get your photo frame here ➡️ https://twb.nz/becauseofyou

💕 Download our Pregnancy, Infant, and Child Loss Awareness Graphics, and post them on social media to spread awareness and acknowledge your babies who died. You can download them here ➡️ https://pregnancyafterlosssupport.org/FootprintsOnMyHeart

💕 Participate in the International Wave of Light at 7PM local time. Light a candle and keep it lit for one hour, as the wave of light passes throughout the world.

💕 Make a donation to Pregnancy After Loss Support (PALS) in memory of your baby who died, and help keep PALS’ services and resources free for moms who are traveling the journey of pregnancy after loss. Donate here ➡️ https://pregnancyafterlosssupport.org/donate/

We're sending all of our courageous parents lots of love this month. We know it can be an incredibly emotional month. We love telling the world about our babies, but it can also be hard and sad. Be gentle with yourselves this month.

Today is National Rainbow Baby Day, a day to acknowledge the child or children born after a baby that has died during pregnancy, birth, or infancy. It is a day to honor the child that brings such joy after the deep grief of loss; and to acknowledge the beauty they bring to our lives, which we see ever more clearly after enduring such heartbreak.

While we understand that not everyone connects with this term, or has the opportunity to have a child after a loss, for those who do grow their family after losing a baby, the rainbow can be a powerful image. For those of you holding your rainbow babies in your arms, we are thinking of you and your tremendous journey. For those of you dreaming of having another child, or dreaming of being ready to try again, we are thinking of you with hope in our hearts.

It is truly a wonderful, beautiful mystery how much love the heart can hold.

TRIANDGETCARE is NOT paying for baby formula for beneficiaries except under certain medical conditions. Be sure to read the whole post.
~ Bud

Please be aware:

The graphic below was posted to numerous military spouse's sites over the weekend, and is rapidly making its way around social media. It claims TRICARE will pay to have baby formula shipped for free. This information IS NOT correct.

While TRICARE does cover formulas and vitamins for beneficiaries with metabolic disorders, TRICARE DOES NOT cover regular baby formula for otherwise-healthy infants, nor the costs to directly ship baby formula to beneficiaries.

Parents with children who have a medical need for specialized formula should work with their pediatrician, Primary Care Manager (PCM) or specialist in the case that the formula they need is unavailable.

Today is International Bereaved Mother's Day, started in 2010 in Australia by Carlie Marie Dudley after the stillbirth of their son Christian.

Today we honor you as a courageous and warrior mother to your most beautiful and beloved child. We see you and the deep love you carry for your child in your heart. As long as you love, you will never stop grieving your baby's death.

Be gentle with yourself.

With love,
