“…Two bike rides this weekend, some walks and rebounding …variety is KEY…and keeps me from getting bored w/the same old thing ….besides, variety with different m/various activities engage different muscle groups…whatever you do to stay active , make sure you enjoy it & it’s benefiting you …”
(My latest struggle—-Trying to get back to where you were post injury is a little harder as we age, but keep moving , and you will slowly regain your strength & stamina)!! 💪

The benefits of planking for older adults include improved core strength and stability, enhanced balance (which can help reduce risk of falls), better posture, and possibly alleviation of lower back pain

They say—
Over 40-should be able to hold a plank for about a minute with no issue

Over 50-should be able to hold a plank for 30-60 seconds

Over 60-should be able to hold a plank for 10-30 seconds

If you can hold a plank longer than the above suggested —you’re doing pretty darn good!! Congrats

Benefits of planks—at any age—

The benefits of planking for older adults include improved core strength and stability, enhanced balance (which can help reduce risk of falls), better posture, and possibly alleviation of lower back pain

Ease your way into a plank —no matter how long you hold it, you are working your arm muscles, core and overall strength! Mix it up —do it on elbows , straight arms, side planks…

“…. My favorite motto is -stay active… Keep moving…. I truly believe that… This past week my heart is once again full ❤️. I was able to get back into some of my favorite activities… hiking, cycling, rebounding…. I’m feeling more myself after a brief break from every day life…(from a minor injury, it could’ve been worse)
I credit my healing quickly to staying active all these years & making sure that I move when able… Movement is so very good /important on so many levels…. No matter how little or how much you do , just keep moving. Find something you enjoy, something that makes your soul happy and your heart smile… thank you God 🙏for My incredible strength & good health…” ☀️🙃🚲🌷🥾

“..little more cardio tonight on the rebounder—this is FUN while getting some great cardio— go as fast or as slow -as hard or as soft as you want… you get benefits, no matter what— me personally I can’t go too hard because of my bad knees… Although research shows that it is good for arthritis. You just can’t go full force… But if you can no longer run or jog as I can’t, this is a great way to get the same benefits of that without all the extra pressure and force on your joints… I’m still learning and figuring it out, but I did a lot of research and watched a lot of videos and still continue to do so and there are just so many benefits and you will get addicted… Remember no matter what you do find something you enjoy and STAY ACTIVE!!!…” 😜😀😊

-Ten minutes of rebounding on a trampoline is equivalent to 30 minutes of running. It's also comparable to 30 minutes on other gym equipment.

-Explanation
Rebounding is a cardiovascular workout that's easier on the joints than running.
It's also good for muscle tone and lymphatic drainage.
Rebounding can be more intense than walking, and can make you feel as tired as a 30-minute walk.
The number of calories burned during rebounding depends on factors like body weight and intensity.
-Benefits of rebounding
Cardiovascular health: Rebounding is a better cardiovascular workout than running for 33 minutes.
Muscle tone: Rebounding helps tone your muscles.
Lymphatic drainage: Rebounding is good for lymphatic drainage.
Joint health: Rebounding is easier on the joints than running.
—since I have arthritis in my knees this is a great way to get cardio without all the pressure on my joints -(if you don’t go crazy & too hard)

“…Trying something new …(Variety is key)….rebounding….will keep you updated as I do this more consistently!…quite fun, and technically only need 10 mins per day which equals 30mins of running!!….since I have arthritis in my knees I can no longer run or jog, so thinking this might be a good alternative and a good addition to my hikes/walks….” STAY ACTIVE!!! 😊

“..OMG— haven’t posted in a bit been quite busy but still staying active… Trying to keep my yoga routine going more consistently and I always realize how much better I feel when I do it on a daily basis or at least 4 to 5 times a week….light weights , walks or hikes ….alway moving, as a body in motion, STAYS in Motion !!…” Happy Sunday!! 🙏
