It is our pleasure to welcome Melanie Kimmery, ANP, to the Palmer Family Medicine medical team. Melanie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Montana State University, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing at Gonzaga University. She served as a commissioned critical care nurse in the United States Navy for 11 years and brings over 20 years of healthcare experience, the past 17 years of which were here in the Mat Su Valley. Melanie will join our practice the week of October 28th.

When she isn’t caring for her patients, Melanie enjoys gardening, travel, and watching the Cowboys and Stars. Most of all, she loves spending time with her son, watching him play hockey, and chauffeuring him to his various academic and sporting endeavors.

Welcome Melanie! We are so happy you’ve chosen to join us.

As of the end of July, our beloved Nicole Ford, FNP, made the admirable decision to spend more time at home with her little ones. We have been blessed with her presence here at Palmer Family Medicine, and while she leaves an empty place in our clinic that will be hard to fill, we wish her and her beautiful family the very best and thank her for the care she gave our community for the past 4 years.

For those of you who remember Doc’s mini-me working for us a few summers, you will be pleased to know he graduated Summa Cum Laude last spring in bio-chemistry and is presently pursuing his doctorate at UC Davis. We miss his face around here though!

This year’s community Messiah performance will be held at the Glenn Massey Theatre, December 3rd, at 2pm and 7pm. Admission is free. We have some really great talent in our little town, and there really isn’t any finer music this side of heaven than Handel’s Messiah. Miles (one of our trusty janitors) will be on cello again this year with his lovely teacher, Nanette Lundell. I, (Laura), will be hunkered down with the altos again, singing my heart out with a great group of musicians. Join us! It’s a great way to kick off the christmas season.
