We’re proud to introduce Mat-Su Radiation Oncology Center, formerly Mat-Su Valley Cancer Center. This updated brand better reflects our place within a connected family of Alaska cancer care clinics, including:
📍 Anchorage Radiation Oncology Center
📍 Peninsula Radiation Oncology Center
📍 Southeast Radiation Oncology Center

Together, our oncology center and three others are part of the Aurora Integrated Oncology Foundation (AIOF), our incredible nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to high-quality cancer care for communities across Alaska.

While the name is new, our commitment to patients and families in the Mat-Su Valley remains the same: compassionate, advanced care close to home.💚

With longer summer days ahead, UV exposure can add up quickly, especially as we spend more time outside. And yes…we’re just as excited for the Alaska summer as you are!
☀Melanoma is one of the most preventable cancers, and early detection can save lives. Protect your skin:
✔️ Wear sunscreen (even on cooler days)
✔️ Cover up during long hours outdoors
✔️ Watch for new or changing spots
✔️ Schedule a skin check
Remember, fellow Alaskans, sun safety matters.

👉Yes. The HPV vaccine can prevent most cancers caused by HPV, including many head and neck cancers.
In fact:
• About 72% of HPV-related cancers in American Indian & Alaska Native populations are caused by types the vaccine can prevent.
• HPV vaccination can prevent the majority of these cancers before they start
That’s powerful, and hopeful. This April, talk to your provider about HPV vaccination. Protect yourself, your family, and Alaska’s future.

MSVCC is thrilled to give Wasilla Area Seniors, Inc. $900 to support their mission to provide for the lives of seniors living in the Matanuska Susitna Valley and to enable seniors to live as independently as possible for as long as possible.
Every patient who completes treatment at MSVCC helps us direct charitable giving each quarter to local nonprofits that are doing great work in our community.

HPV (human papillomavirus) is very common, most people will get it at some point. While many infections go away, some can lead to cancer, including cancers of the throat.
Among American Indian and Alaska Native populations:
• HPV is linked to cancers affecting the throat, cervix, and more
• Throat cancers are the most common HPV-related cancer in men
Providers across Alaska are seeing more HPV-related head & neck cancers. Knowing your risk and talking to a provider can make a difference.
