Last night we added 14 new full Alpine Patrollers to our ranks with the completion of our OET evaluations. We will be conducting another eval in a few weeks and hope to add a few more. Please help us in congratulating the hard work of these candidates!

Every now and then you wish the snowmakers weren’t so good at their job! 😂 But then again, one of our ski patrol candidates seemed to love helping patrollers close up shop for the night.

It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our own. Ron “RD” Dallago conducted his final sweep on December 23rd, 2024. RD joined the Blue Mountain Ski Patrol in 1990 and has served in many roles over the years. Over the years, there are very few patrollers in the Eastern PA Region and Eastern Division of the National Ski Patrol system and even fewer at Blue Mountain Resort that he hasn’t helped in some way. He will be greatly missed by many!

Today, our candidates learned the finer points of lift evacuation. They were excellent students and learned a lot. Hopefully they will never have to put these new skills to use but if they do now they will be prepared!

Another successful work party at the mountain this morning as we continue our preparations for the season. The Wednesday crew started their day with a great breakfast and finished with some impromptu dentistry! (No mannequins were hurt in the cleaning of this aid room!)

Our 2024 candidate class is well into their OEC training and last night they got to experience some incredible instruction from a few of our amazing staff. Dr. Michael Martinez presented a lecture on Anatomy & Physiology and Shock. Followed by Stop the Bleed presented by Linda and Larry Jones.
