As we enter this season of gratitude, Chaplain Ken shared a meaningful story that feels especially fitting for this week.

During last year’s holiday rush, he witnessed a young cashier being criticized loudly by a frustrated customer. When it came time for his turn in line, he simply said: “Thank you for taking care of so many people today. You’re doing a great job.”
A small kindness. A few positive words. But they made all the difference—the cashier smiled, her spirit lifted in the midst of a busy day. 🛒🤎

This simple moment reminds us how powerful our words can be. They can tear down… or they can build up. They can divide… or they can remind us of what we share.

Here at Londonderry Village, we believe every person—resident, team member, visitor, volunteer, or vendor—carries an inherent dignity. When we choose words that uplift, encourage, and honor one another, we strengthen the unity that makes this community so special.

As we gather with loved ones this Holiday season, may we use our words to bring grace, warmth, and hope to those around us. 🍁✨

Our latest Wellness Outing took us to the The National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, where residents explored exhibits on soldiers’ letters home, the abolition of slavery, President Lincoln’s leadership, medical care on the front lines, and more. 🇺🇸📜 It was a day rich with learning, reflection, and meaningful conversation. 💬✨

This outing highlighted several dimensions of wellness; physical wellness through walking the exhibits, social wellness as residents connected and shared their thoughts, and educational wellness as we deepened our understanding of this pivotal moment in history. 📚

Fun fact: The Civil War was the first major conflict to be extensively photographed 📸, giving us an unprecedented visual record of soldiers, battlefields, and daily life during the war.

For every $20 donation, a luminary will be placed in our glowing outdoor display, dedicated in honor or memory of someone special. 🕯️❤️ These softly lit lanterns create a peaceful, festive atmosphere as they line the walkways of our PlayPark.

🎄🍂 The fall and Christmas spirit is officially in the air at Londonderry Village! Our recent Fall & Christmas Bazaar was a joyful success .. from cookies flying off the tables (Cookies by the Pound sold out!) to the Christmas Shop bringing in lots in sales.

This years new location was a hit, and Santa & Mrs. Claus were busy spreading cheer with more than 50 visitors! ❤️ Thank you to everyone who baked, shopped, volunteered, and helped make this year’s event such a merry start to the season.

Our Hybrid Villa Construction Project is moving full speed ahead, thanks to the incredible efforts of our construction team and partners. The second Hybrid Villa Building at Londonderry Village is well underway, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail are truly outstanding.

Each Hybrid Villa is designed with resident comfort in mind, offering open-concept living, attached parking, and maintenance-free convenience within our vibrant independent living community. 🏡 As we look ahead to a Summer 2026 completion, the enthusiasm is growing among future residents who can’t wait to call this space home.

We Are… Londonderry Lions! 🦁💙🤍
Football season is in full swing, and our residents are cheering on the Nittany Lions every step of the way... win or lose! Saturdays at Londonderry Village have become a full-on tailgate tradition, complete with potluck-style spreads, Penn State gear, and plenty of team spirit. 🏈

From touchdown celebrations to halftime snacks, the energy in the room could rival Beaver Stadium itself (okay, almost 😉). Residents gather to swap stories, share food, and shout “We Are!” louder than ever... and one week, the Nittany Lion himself stopped by to join the fun!

Whether you’re watching for the plays, the snacks, or the camaraderie, one thing’s for sure; there’s no better fan base than the Londonderry Village crew. 💪💙

We celebrated Halloween and relaunched our Uniguest App today with candy, costumes, and community spirit. From our residents’ creative outfits to our team’s festive flair, the day was filled with laughter, connection, and plenty of smiles. 🧡

Exploring Local History at Fort Hunter Mansion & Park 🕰️

Residents from Londonderry Village recently enjoyed a fascinating outing to Fort Hunter Mansion and Park in Harrisburg. Once the home of Archibald McAllister, this beautifully preserved 19th-century estate overlooks the Susquehanna River and offers a glimpse into Pennsylvania’s rich past.

Our group took part in a guided tour of the mansion, learning about its architecture, the families who lived there, and the site’s role in local history. Afterwards, residents took time to stroll the scenic grounds, appreciating the peaceful autumn landscape and riverside views.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this educational and enriching Wellness Outing — and to our Wellness Specialists, Lauren and Corey, for leading such a meaningful day of discovery.
