🍦✨ What a sweet way to wrap up the summer! Last night, residents gathered under the pavilion for our End of Summer Ice Cream Social, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect evening. The Fertile Valley Farm Ice Cream truck was serving up cones all night long, and the line wrapped around the pavilion as residents from across campus came together for a scoop (or two!) of soft serve. 🌤️

The night was filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of fun—neighbors enjoyed games of corn hole and ladder ball, made some furry new friends, and danced and sang along to music well into the evening. 🐾🎶 It was a wonderful chance to catch up with old friends, meet new neighbors, and celebrate the season together.

Events like these are what make our community so special—bringing people together to celebrate, connect, and enjoy life’s little joys. 💛

✨Londonderry Village was proud to host the Brethren Forum 2025 from August 20–22, welcoming leaders, peers, and friends from across the country for three days of fellowship, learning, and meaningful conversation.✨

The forum featured:
▪️Inspiring keynote presentations on tackling challenges in older buildings, delivered by Malcolm Nimick, David Slack, Jeffrey Anderzhon, and Amy Castleberry.
▪️A session on Cybersecurity Preparedness with John DiMaggio, CEO of Blue Orange Compliance.
▪️A tour of Londonderry Village and informal peer-to-peer discussions exploring pressing issues, policy questions, and organizational challenges.
▪️Insightful sessions on Church of the Brethren connections, past and present, led by Eder representatives.

Evenings were filled with dinners and fellowship, including a special gathering at Hidden Still Spirits in Hershey, and delicious meals prepared right here on our Londonderry Village campus, giving attendees the chance to taste our community’s own culinary offerings while connecting and sharing experiences outside the sessions.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us, making this year’s forum a space for collaboration, learning, inspiration, and a meaningful experience!

At Londonderry Village, we love creating memorable moments for our residents, and our recent Wellness outing was no exception! 💐

On August 21st, Lauren, one of our Wellness specialist, led a delightful group of ladies to Country Joy Flowers in Elizabethtown, PA, where we enjoyed strolling through vibrant summer blooms 🌸.

After selecting our favorite flowers to create beautiful bouquets, we treated ourselves to sweet delights at Sweet Velvet Macaroons in Palmyra, PA.🍬

It was a wonderful ladies' day filled with self-love and fellowship, and our flowers will remind us of the fun for days to come. Keep your eyes and ears open for our next Wellness Outing in September – we can't wait to see what adventure are ahead!🤍

🌿 Exciting Wellness Outing at Londonderry Village! 🌿

On August 7th, our Wellness Specialists Lauren and Corey took a wonderful group of residents on a scenic 3-mile walk along the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail to the breathtaking White Cliffs of Canoe Overlook. The weather was perfect, making our adventure even more enjoyable. After our walk, we relaxed with a picnic-style lunch by the Susquehanna River, where we spotted a herd of goats grazing along the shore. ☀️🥪

👨‍🍳🍜 Today’s Teaching Kitchen was all about flavor and fun! Residents joined Chef Darius for a hands-on demo where they whipped up Garlic Rice Noodles—a simple yet delicious dish made with rice noodles, garlic, soy sauce, and a touch of sweetness from brown sugar. 🌱✨

The Teaching Kitchen series, hosted by Morrison Living, brings neighbors together to learn, cook, and enjoy. Each session introduces new flavors, techniques, and healthy tips while fostering friendship and community around the table. 💙

It’s more than cooking—it’s connection. And judging by the smiles (and empty bowls!), today’s recipe was a hit! 😋👏

✨Event Spotlight: Making Spirits Bright – Luminary Event ✨
We’re closing out our week of event highlights with one of the most magical nights of the year! Making Spirits Bright is a beautiful way to share “light and hope” this holiday season while supporting Londonderry Village’s Good Samaritan Fund.

For a $20 donation, you can dedicate a luminary in memory or honor of someone special. On the evening of the event, our campus will glow with illuminated pathways, festive carols, sweet treats, hot cocoa, and the warmth of community by the outdoor fireplace.
