“Planning for death can actually help us live more intentionally every day, just like preparing for birth helps us welcome new life more meaningfully.” - End Well founder Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider

No one gets out of life alive, but one expert says we can take steps to make sure we leave the earthly plane riding the high of a ‘good death.’

"My sorrow at the tragic deaths of this beautiful young couple is matched by my sorrow about what it might, perhaps must, mean for Jews in the United States: that our physical institutions will increasingly become bunkers." - Chanan Tigay J. The Jewish News of Northern California

After the Capital Jewish Museum shooting, how much more secure can we make ourselves? Should we turn our communal sites into bunkers?

Our hearts are heavy as we grieve the tragic deaths of Sarah Milgrim, z"l and Yaron Lischinsky, z"l. They were two Jewish professionals working for the Israeli Embassy that were fatally shot last night. Our hearts are truly heavy along with klal yisrael (or all of the Israel/the Jewish community), their families and friends, and each of our colleagues working in Jewish spaces. May their memories be for a blessing.

American Jewish Committee (AJC) mourns the devastating loss of Sarah Milgrim z"l and Yaron Lischinsky z"l, beloved members of the AJC community, who were murdered outside of the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., following AJC’s annual Young Diplomats Reception. "In the end, our bodies are as fragile and ephemeral as paintings made of sand" wrote animator and illustrator Benny Zelkowicz. He just created a sand animated documentary that explores the importance of sacred ritual to help us find meaning in our own lives. Wow. Just wow.

In the end, our bodies are as fragile and ephemeral as paintings made of sand. Who will care for them when our time is over?

Gregarious, charming and a friend to many, David “Dudu” Habib succumbed to cancer on Jan. 14. He was 46.

“It’s a huge loss for us,” said Sinai Memorial Chapel executive director Liz Orlin. “Our work is about relationships, and he had so many. He had so many friends and was so invested in taking care of his community.”
