Karin Chandler is currently in private practice in Palo Alto, San Francisco and Marin County. She has been in practice for over 20 years and specializes in children, teens, young adults and parent coaching. She also works with schools, educational plans, developing IEP’s and 504’s. She is certified in dance and movement therapy and also teaches dance to children and teens. She has run and develope
d a children’s’ social skills program for over 20 years and works in close collaboration with other care providers. Her training and experience includes being a Clinical Team Leader at the Children’s Health Council in Palo Alto, California, providing psychotherapy at St. Luke’s Hospital in San Francisco, California, Counseling at the Center for Child and Family Development, Teaching and training group facilitators at KARA, in Palo Alto, Providing therapy at Sunny Hills Children’s Services, and many more organizations throughout the Bay Area. Karin has a unique background in fitness, nutrition, the arts and wilderness exploration. She understands that children thrive in an environment where there is creativity, joy and humor and incorporates this understanding into her relationship with children and teens. Karin has become known for her ability to provide an environment where a child feels nurtured, understood and is encouraged to be the best of who they are. Her practice focuses on improving a child’s sense of self worth and well-being as quickly as possible so that they can go about their lives in a happy and thriving manner. And she does this in a way that does not give a child a sense that there is anything wrong with them. Rather, a way of feeling confident and like they have the skills and support they need to have a wonderful life.
