Now that we are in Fall, I often hear this question from patients: “Do I still need sunscreen now that summer is over?” The answer is yes. Sun protection is important year-round.
UV exposure occurs even on cloudy days and through windows. Over time, this contributes to premature aging, pigmentation, and skin cancer risk. Daily sunscreen is one of the most effective ways to protect both the health and appearance of your skin.
A few key reminders:
Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
Reapply regularly — every 2 hours when outdoors or exposed to light for extended periods.
Consistency matters more than season; fall and winter are not exceptions.
Physical sunscreens with zinc and titanium are best for both UVA and UVB protection
We carry several medical-grade sunscreens in the office that pair well with our treatments and support long-term skin health. If you’re not sure which is best for your skin, we’d be happy to guide you.
