This patient came to see me because she felt her face looked tired and didn’t reflect how vibrant she felt. She had a prior lower blepharoplasty by another surgeon, but was unhappy with the irregular contours and persistent shadows around her eyes, along with early signs of jowling.
I performed a mini facelift and a lower eyelid blepharoplasty to refine and restore her features while preserving her natural beauty. For this mini facelift, I used the deep plane technique, which releases the facial ligaments and lifts the SMAS layer to achieve long-lasting, natural-looking results. In my “mini facelift” technique, less skin dissection is required, which means a faster recovery for most patients without compromising results nor longevity. This type of procedure is also now often referred to as a preservation deep plan facelift. In my procedure, no drains are used during the recovery and minimal to no bruising occurs for most patients.
The procedure was done under IV sedation, not general anesthesia. She was socially presentable in about a week, though I typically recommend allowing two full weeks before in-person events. Allow two to three months before major events such as a child’s wedding or other significant function.
I’m honored she chose to work with us after consulting with several surgeons, and I deeply appreciate her allowing us to share her photos so others can better understand the process.
