My research focuses on the effects of sleep on performance in elite athletes. In particular, I'm interested in the impact of sleep on cognitive and physical performance across various sports. My research interests include the impact of circadian rhythms and sleep patterns on sports performance. I also work with elite athletes and collegiate and professional sports teams (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB) to imp

As March Madness tips off, I’m revisiting one of my research studies on collegiate basketball players. 🏀

When Stanford basketball players extended their sleep, we saw 12% faster reaction time, 9.2% improvement in 3-point shooting, and faster sprint times, along with better mood, more energy, and less daytime sleepiness.
