DID YOU KNOW THAT HAND-WASHING AND GERM-FREE DRYING ARE IMPORTANT FOR BRAIN HEALTH? PAPER TOWELS ARE BETTER THAN TOUCHLESS BLOWERS FOR DRYING

If your body is busy fighting infection, there are less reserves to sustain your brain and other aspects of your health. Washing your hands is known to be one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs and reduce the likelihood of illness. But did you know that paper towels are healthier for hand drying than touchless automatic hand blowers?

After washing hands, residual water can serve as a medium for bacteria to grow and spread. Studies show that damp hands carry up to 1000 times more bacteria than dry hands! Therefore, effective hand drying is important to reduce infections.

Paper towels are highly absorbent, allowing quick, thorough drying, minimizing the time bacteria have to adhere to wet skin. As single-use disposables, there’s minimal cross-contamination. The friction created while using paper towels physically removes dirt, dead skin cells, and microbes from the hands, providing an added layer of hygiene. However, if not properly stored or dispensers are poorly designed, paper towels can become contaminated by airborne bacteria or other environmental factors.

Touchless blowers eliminate the need for physical contact, reducing the potential for cross-contamination and generate no physical waste. However, research indicates that powerful air jets can disperse bacteria present on hands or in the surrounding environment, increasing the risk of contamination. They take longer to dry hands completely, so users often leave with damp hands, negating the benefits of washing. Plus, they are noisy.

Numerous studies comparing paper towels to touchless blowers show that paper towels:
- spread bacteria less and keep bacteria more contained
- offer faster, more thorough cleaning
- have less airborne bacteria

Conclusion: For optimal health, wash your hands frequently. If you have a choice, paper towels offer superior hygiene, minimize bacterial spread and dry more effectively than touchless blowers.

Our society has dramatically increased our intake of sugar over previous generations and this increase has contributed to many health issues, including cognitive decline. Although sugar substitutes like erythritol can serve as viable alternatives to sugar, they may carry possible risks as well, especially for individuals with pre-existing heart conditions.

Did you know dementia strikes every THREE SECONDS? Yes! Every three seconds, someone in the world develops dementia, robbing them of their memories and devastating their life and their ability to function independently. Over 55 million people are currently living with dementia all over the world, with more and more cases being diagnosed every day. The statistics are alarming!

Memory loss is a much more common occurrence that affects the majority of people in their older years. However, it can also progress to even more serious underlying health conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Knowing the signs of memory loss is important because PROGRESSION CAN BE PREVENTED! Memory loss and dementia ARE OPTIONAL! But that requires recognizing when you have an issue and taking action as early as possible.

Here are a few reasons why knowing the signs of memory loss is important:

1. Early identification: Memory loss and dementia are primarily lifestyle issues and the damage in your brain starts decades before you notice any memory slips. If you are not leading a brain healthy lifestyle, the damage continues to accumulate over time. If you notice that your memory is not as good as it used to be, you are already sliding down the slippery slope of cognitive decline and need to take action NOW.

2. Prevent progression: Memory loss and dementia can be addressed at any stage. There are now prospective, multi-center studies showing reversal of dementia in hundreds of patients! These individuals have been followed for more than a decade and are maintaining their functionality and quality of life. Some have even returned to work and productive lives. It is not easy or simple to prevent or reverse cognitive decline - but nothing is more important in your elder years than keeping your cognition!!

3. Maintain independence: Memory loss can impact your or your loved one's ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence. If you take action now, there’s no reason to get to the point where you don’t recognize your children, can’t put on your own clothes and can’t feed yourself.

4. Think of your family: Memory loss puts a very heavy burden on those closest to you. No one wants to be a burden, and the level of burden you create when you have dementia is staggering.

Knowing the signs of memory loss is important because these should be waving red flags telling you that you are in the danger zone and need to take action immediately!! Prevention is much better and much easier than cure. It is never too late to start taking care of your brain. Visit MemoryWellnessAcademy.com

The thyroid gland plays an important role in regulating your body's metabolism. However, many people are unaware of its impact on brain health. The thyroid hormones help control brain function and development, affect mood and cognitive abilities, and influence sleep patterns and energy levels.
