Arden Courts Memory Care Palos Heights was proud to sponsor “What If It Is Dementia? Let’s Start at Square One!” presented by Lavon K. Lenaway, MA, Owner of Dragonfly Navigation Services, educator, consultant, and gerontologist at the Oak Lawn Public Library.

A heartfelt thank you to Tippi Price and Meghan Moran from the library for making this event possible! 🙌 Your support and collaboration were instrumental in making this event possible.

We had a great turnout, and attendees left with valuable information and a deeper understanding of dementia care.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be continuing this vital conversation with our second part of the series on **November 17**, where we will explore the "Why Behind the Misunderstandings in Dementia Care."

Last week, our team had the pleasure of participating in a CEU event alongside Elevate Care and Residential Home Health and Hospice, where Aishling Dalton-Kelly from Aishling Care Academy facilitated a profoundly moving discussion on Music and Memory, offering our dedicated hospital social workers and case managers invaluable perspectives. We were having a blast moving and grooving to the songs! The effect music can have on an individual with dementia is truly remarkable and can trigger wonderful memories to surface. It was an incredible presentation- Aishling, we can’t thank you enough!

Our End of Summer Fling was highlighted by a live performance from the Tim Wilsey Duo last night! It was a full house-at one point it was standing room only! Guests enjoyed an exquisite selection of hors d'oeuvres paired with a choice of mocktail, making for an evening that will be remembered for days to come. We extend our gratitude to the Tim Wilsey Duo for their outstanding performance and to our Arden Courts team for making this night truly unforgettable.

Arden Courts Memory Care Palos Heights and Crescent Home Healthcare co-sponsored a lunch and learn session for the Advocate Christ Medical Center Case Management and Social Work Team.

Aishling Dahlton Kelly, Dementia Inside Out presented on Music & Memory. She shared insights on the powerful connection between music, memory, and dementia. Everyone enjoyed this engaging presentation diving into how music can positively impact the lives of those facing memory challenges.

A heartfelt thank you to Aishling for her valuable expertise. A heartfelt thank you to Mary Kennedy, Director of Case Management, Advocate Christ Medical Center, without her this lunch and learn would not have been possible.
