June 16–22 is all about highlighting the importance of protecting yourself and your community from mosquito-borne illnesses like West Nile Virus (WNV).

Right here in Christian County, we've already confirmed our first positive WNV mosquito sample of the 2025 season, collected in Pana earlier this week. This is an important reminder that prevention matters, especially as warm, humid weather increases mosquito activity.

Our Environmental Health team is hard at work monitoring mosquito activity and testing samples throughout the season to keep the public informed.
