❌ here’s where most people go wrong:
instead of trying to find balance, they cut out everything they hear is “unhealthy”

this extreme restriction leads to fizzling out

✅ the key to sustainability? finding balance with your diet

does it look as glamorous as all the “what I eat in a day” videos you see? No…and that’s ok

we teach you about food and how to fuel your body so you can, in turn, teach your kids about food and how to fuel their bodies

✨ Here Are 5 Tips to Help Your Family Eat Healthier

1️⃣ Set your environment up for success
Keep healthy foods visible and easy to grab. Keep foods that you want your family to have within reach and put indulgent foods out of reach.

2️⃣ Find healthy swaps that everyone enjoys
Small changes add up! Swap out heavy dressings for lighter options like Bolthouse or Greek yogurt based dips, use whole-grain pasta, or try air-popped popcorn instead of chips. The key is finding swaps that taste good.

3️⃣ Involve your family in the process
Let kids (or your spouse) help set the dinner menu for the week, choose a new fruit or veggie at the store, or help in the kitchen. When they have a role in the process, they’re more likely to eat what’s served.

4️⃣ Use positive language around food
Instead of labeling foods as “good” or “bad,” focus on how different foods help the body. For example: “Protein helps your muscles get strong,” or “These veggies give us energy.” This builds a healthy relationship with food instead of guilt or restriction.

5️⃣ Model the Behavior You Want to See
Your kids (and partners) notice what you eat. If you consistently show balance, they’re more likely to do the same. Aim to enjoy treats in moderation without guilt, but also filling your plate with nourishing foods.

Let’s give Jessi some love! ❤️

Over the last year, it’s been so fun to be a part of Jessi‘s transformation. Not only has she seen a massive shift in body composition, but she has also improved her performance and has competed in some competitive events like DEKA. She’s been pushing her comfort zone and gaining confidence with both strength training and endurance.

So what have Jessi and I been working on?
✔️ consistency with protein intake to maintain muscle mass while in fat loss

✔️ timing carbohydrates around her workouts to improve performance and recovery

✔️ balancing caloric intake between periods of fat loss and periods of maintenance

✔️ getting adequate nutrients to keep her feeling her best and improve labs

✔️ coming up with simple and sustainable meals that work for her and her family + her busy lifestyle

✔️ and now she’s crushing untracked fat loss and feeling super confident

Ordered hungryroot for the first time!

They ship you easy to prepare foods, meals, and snacks. Most of these meals can be prepped in under 10 minutes

This first box I didn’t make any modifications (you can swap foods for your order on the website or in the app).

Love a lot of what they sent, but next time I’ll get in the app and swap out for leaner protein sources. This box had several foods that were higher in fat and I’m looking for more lean protein options to hit my nutritional goals.

What I love about options like this?
It teaches people how to simplify the process.

Kevin’s paleo meal + microwave rice + stir fry veggies.
EASY and delicious.

Honestly even without hungryroot this is what many of our meals at home look like and this is really how I shop at the grocery store.

Simple nutrition is sustainable nutrition.

not right now.

there’s nothing wrong with dieting, but if that’s all your ever doing, I’m throwing the red flag 🚩

⭐️ learning to eat at maintenance is crucial

⭐️having balance with food is important

⭐️knowing how to fuel optimally without seeing the scale go down is necessary

⭐️ fueling to get strong instead of small is FUN
