When you feel fear or anxious about something you’re wanting to do or accomplish or BE, you’re sending a signal to your brain that it’s not safe. Your brain will then shoot all kind of messages to let you know this isn’t kosher, it won’t work, and good ole DANGER ‼️ alerts, etc. And it’s because you are believing your thoughts since your thoughts run your mind like a dog on a leash.

There is a saying in meditation, and it’s simple. It goes like this:
“We meditate NOT to control our thoughts, but so that our thoughts stop controlling US.”

That is why we start at the beginning and learn to calm our minds. You can do this and I can help. In very easy to learn format, in small practices. Because you likely don’t have time to devote a side job into learning this I keep it super simple.

CONFIDENCE—
There are just 3 ingredients to building confidence, and if you keep repeating them your self worth, confidence in your capabilities and in who you are will keep growing exponentially— guaranteed.

1. Prune the s**t thoughts in your mind that lie to you and say you’re ______ (fill in the blank because everyone has their own critics, its as individual to you as your fingerprint).
A.) remember it’s all lies
B.) you must master the ability to OBSERVE your thoughts in order to even pluck out the crap ones! Otherwise you don’t know they’re there do you?😉
I. Herein lies the need for meditation + mindfulness practices (I’ll repeat this often sweetheart)

2. When you feel healthy fear DO THE THING YOU ARE AFRAID OF. Rinse repeat. Your mind will *always* try to keep you safe and small and in familiarity. It’s an important job! Your task is to override it when it’s healthy fear that will make you grow or accomplish. Confidence will ensue every👏🏻single 👏🏻time 👏🏻.

3. Behave in ways you admire. 🤎

You want confidence? You want to do that thing, be courageous, ask that person out, uplevel your career, go to school, public speak, open your own cupcake shop, master your body in athleticism? Feel GOOD about yourself for once (& then everyday forevermore?)?????

These three actions are the remedy every time. 👊🏻

Wednesday I put it out there: I’m about to share what I’ve been working on. Today is about the backstory you likely don’t know. Almost 13 yrs ago what I used to call “the na**lm of autism” landed in my lap with my sweet beloved boy Aspen.
Years ago my life used to be unrelenting chaos. I was drowning with very little support & coparenting with a narcissist (actually diagnosed). I don’t like to talk about this much because people often have ideas about what autism is, & I’m frequently pitied. Some actually say “aw I’m sorry to hear that” to me as though I just told them I had cancer lol! Ya’ll my son is BRILLIANT. He is the most beautiful sweetest soul I know. Kind and super laid back & go-with-the-flow kinda kid. With all his hurdles he absolutely inspires me to do more in the absence of mine.

Those very hard years when my boys were younger & I was mired in that relationship I began practices that laid the foundation of what is my truest life’s work besides being a parent. I did it to survive. No one offered to come give me a break. No respite. I had to learn things to cope or I wouldn’t survive the insurmountable stress. I never realized how much I could actually THRIVE in the years to come. But I did. I left that relationship knowing I was sealing my fate to raise them mostly solo. I worked on my mind KNOWING-believing I could overcome myself, to soothe myself, to not overreact, to eliminate anxiety, to build confidence to go after better opportunities in my life, even in love.

Now I’m a bit unstoppable. 😉 confidence for dayzzz about *who I am* not just my outer esthetics. I don’t get rattled. Never anxious. I mean never. I experience normal butterflies of the kind of fear from excitement of pushing myself like I’m doing now right before you. My mind is Steady…. Calm…. Peaceful. When s**t hits the fan I do not react.. I respond. And then I let it go. My kids aren’t any more stressful than any kids are today & our life is wonderful & peaceful. Was that because I learned to regulate myself which helped them? Maybe. It has certainly had an effect in every single area of my life.

And that’s what I wanna help people experience too. 🤎

Over the years I’ve worn a lot of hats — mental health nurse, meditation teacher, mom, student of the mind… but some of the most important things I’ve learned came from living through the struggles we all have in life.

Navigating & leaving narcissistic relationships.
Raising children with autism.
Choosing the wrong people to filet my heart to.
Being stuck in my crap and stagnant in life.
Career upheaval.
Being terminated unjustly.
MANY moments where I had to figure out how to steady myself when life felt anything BUT steady.

And at the same time, in my work as a mental health RN, I was sitting with people in some of the hardest moments of their lives.

All of it led me to the same question over and over again in my heart and mind as I navigated my own gut wrenching challenges:

💫How do we actually learn to regulate ourselves, trust ourselves, & move through life with more steadiness and confidence…. And less anxiety, fear and depressive symptoms?💫

So over the years I learned. Oh boy did I learn. Through this journey I began building practices, tools, perspectives that helped me do exactly that.

Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
But slowly… in the trenches of real life.

And eventually I realized something profound.

What I had been building for myself… could help other people too. Sooooo many people struggle with anxiety and fear and underconfidence or overthinking and overreacting to life in general.

Behind the scenes, I’ve been shaping something from all of this.

And at the end of this week Sunday evening I’m finally going to start sharing it bit by bit.

And yes… I’m launching it before everything is perfectly finished.

Because life isn’t perfect.
And the work that changes us usually isn’t either.👊🏻

A question to always ask yourself in the middle of your anxiety or worry is: “if I knew it was certain how would I feel?”

In that moment, you would most likely drop your shoulders…. you would feel calm… secure… open… and rela###xed.

Now here’s the deeper move: can you feel that way because of *who you are* not because of what is coming? (Spoiler alert- you can!)

Your security doesn’t come from outcomes.
It comes from your capacity.

Uncertainty stops being scary when you trust your response more than you fear the event.

This is what I am here to teach. Self trust through inner regulation. The beautiful gift of steadying your mind.🤎

As a mental health nurse I can tell you it’s loudly common that most people have issues with anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self worth, and simply low confidence in their ability to become extraordinary— what they know is inside them deep down.
Maybe that’s you. It certainly was me.

It took me a couple of years through lots of trial and plenty of error learning all I could about why I felt so brutally stuck in the repeated loop akin to a hamster wheel on Groundhogs Day.

But my friends, I did learn. And then I damn near perfected the process. Come sit with me and I’ll teach you all I know. Your life, and especially your peace, will never be the same again. 🤎

Most people are walking around starving — not really just for attention,
