Tracking your baby’s movements in the third trimester is a simple, powerful way to monitor your baby’s health. Most babies develop a regular pattern of kicks, rolls, and stretches, and getting to know that pattern can help you notice changes early.

How to track fetal movement:
• Choose a time each day when your baby is usually active.
• Count how long it takes to feel 10 movements.
• Keep track of this time daily—patterns matter.
• Contact your healthcare provider right away if movements slow down or feel different than usual.

Safe sleep practices protect infants and reduce the risk of sleep-related deaths. Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the most important steps families can take during a baby’s first year.

The ABCs of Safe Sleep:
• Alone: Your baby should sleep alone in their crib or bassinet.
• Back: Always place your baby on their back for every nap and nighttime sleep.
• Crib: Use a firm, flat sleep surface with only a fitted sheet. No blankets, pillows, bumpers, or toys.

Additional safe sleep reminders:
• Keep your baby’s sleep area smoke-free.
• Room-share for at least the first six months, but do not bed-share.
• Dress baby in light sleep clothing and avoid overheating.

Thanksgiving is a time for family, gratitude, and great food. Here are a few simple safety reminders to help keep your holiday running smoothly:

• Stay in the kitchen when cooking. Most home fires start from unattended food.
• Create a kid-free zone around hot stoves, sharp utensils, and anything that could spill or burn.
• Practice safe travel habits: buckle up, drive alert, and take breaks on long trips.
• Cook turkey to at least 165°F and refrigerate leftovers within two hours to prevent foodborne illness.
• Keep small items, bones, and décor out of reach of little ones and pets.
