Happy National Occupational Therapy Month!
This April, we want to take a moment to shine a spotlight on the amazing OT department here at Therapy1One.
We want to send a huge thank you to our occupational therapists, Kathy and Taylor, our COTA, Brittani, and our incredible OT tech, Tanner. The dedication, patience, and genuine care you all show our patients is truly inspiring. You bring so much compassion and expertise to our clinic every single day, and we couldn't do what we do without you.
A lot of people know what we expect on the physical therapy side of things, but the life-changing work of occupational therapy sometimes flies under the radar. To put it simply, while PT usually focuses on improving general movement and mobility, OT focuses on the specific skills needed for daily living.
Occupational therapy helps people get back to doing the things they actually want and need to do every day. Whether that means helping someone regain the fine motor skills to button their shirt, figuring out how to adapt a workspace after an injury, or helping a patient safely cook a meal again, OT is all about empowering people to regain their true independence.
Kathy, Taylor, Brittani, and Tanner, you help our patients bridge the gap between physical recovery and actually getting back to their everyday lives. Your work is the perfect complement to our PT team, and our clinic is incredibly lucky to have you.
Please join us in celebrating this wonderful crew in the comments below.
