It's National Cookie Day!
Cookies are great. Who doesn’t love a good cookie?
This National Cookie Day and every day, we encourage everyone, to enjoy cookies but do so in moderation.
Weight gain from overindulging in sweets can lead to obesity, a chronic disease linked to an increased risk for numerous health problems, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers, and joint problems.
In Obstetrics and Gynecology, obesity can also cause hormone imbalances that may lead to irregular ovulation causing fertility issues.
Enjoy your cookie but balance it with a healthy diet comprised of proteins and complex carbohydrates. Try to avoid heavily processed foods and alcohol. Also, establish healthy sleep and exercise routines.
Cookies are great, just moderate your intake!
