We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Marc McKinley and Dr. Sherryl Mitchell-Hernandez to Nephrology Associates, P.A.

Marc McKinley, D.O. joined the practice in January 2021. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed Internal Medicine residency at Summa Health System in Ohio. He completed his fellowship in Nephrology at The Ohio State University. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the subspecialty of Nephrology.

Sherryl Mitchell-Hernandez, M.D. joined the practice in August 2021. She received her Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) Santo Domingo, DR and completed Internal Medicine residency at University Hospital Ramon E. Betances, Mayaguez Medical Center in Puerto Rico. She completed her fellowship in Nephrology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board eligible in the subspecialty of Nephrology. She is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Dr. McKinley and Dr. Mitchell are credentialed at our local DaVita Kidney Care and Fresenius Medical Care dialysis clinics as well as Gulf Coast Medical Center and Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Medical Center (Dr. Mitchell pending).

Both physicians are excited to be in the Gulf Coast region and look forward to caring for our area’s patients. All physicians are accepting new patients.

We are excited to announce that we have started telehealth visits for our patients!

If you have rescheduled your recent appointment or if you have an appointment that is upcoming and would like to have a telehealth visit then please call our office at 850-769-2158 during regular business hours and the front office will be happy to assist you. Please be advised that you will need a device with a camera and microphone capability such as a smart phone. We have found that using an Android phone or an iPhone/iPad seem to work the best.

If you do not have an phone or computer that will allow video chat/FaceTime or if you do not have a smartphone or internet service then please let the front desk know. Some insurances are covering some telephone visits as well.

If you have an appointment and still wish to be seen in the office then we will be happy to see you. Please be advised that we will continue to limit any family/visitors to one (1) person per patient and all patients and visitors/family will be screened prior to your appointment. If you do have an appointment and begin having fevers, cough or other respiratory symptoms then please do not come to the office. We will be happy to reschedule you when you are feeling better.

Please continue to practice social distancing and continue good hygiene such as hand washing, use of hand sanitizer, covering your cough and staying home if you feel sick. Your health and the health of our community is our number one priority. Thank you for trusting us with your care.

We want to let everyone know that we are working on various ways to continue to care for you and protect you during these unprecedented times. We are working on several methods to provide you with telehealth services which would allow us to conduct your office visit without you having to leave the comfort of your home. Although we do not have things finalized just yet, we are frantically working to get this up and running as soon as possible.

If you have an upcoming appointment and would like to reschedule, then please call our office during regular business hours and we will be happy to reschedule you as soon as possible. If you are interested in having a telehealth visit, please let the office staff know when you call and we will reach out to you with details after everything is set up and ready.

If you are interested in a telehealth visit then you will need a device that has video and microphone capabilities as well as either a cellular connection or Wi-Fi connection. Smart phones such as iPhones and Androids will work as will computers that have video camera and microphone capabilities. If you do not have a smart phone or computer that will work then let the staff know that as well. There may be some options for you in the future as well. We will still be open for regular office visits but will continue to limit visitors and screen every person prior to their appointment.

As always, your health is our number one concern. Please continue to practice hand washing (or use of appropriate hand sanitizer) and social distancing as possible. Together we can slow the spread of this disease.

Given the current concerns of COVID-19 virus, we have updated our office policies to help protect you and our community.

We are asking that only patients with appointments come to the office. If you do not have an appointment but have questions or inquires then please call our office at (850) 769-2158. Please do not come by the office.

Office patients will be limited to one (1) visitor/family member to accompany them to the visit. The visitor/family member will be subject to screening as well.

At this time, we ask that if you have any fevers, cough, sore throat or other respiratory symptoms then you please stay home and take care of yourself. If you have an appointment scheduled with us then please call and we will reschedule. All patients and visitors will be screened prior to their visit. Please let us know if you need any refills or if you have any other acute needs and we will try to take care of them over the phone if possible.

If you have a scheduled appointment and come to the office, but have respiratory symptoms, fever, cough then please do not enter the lobby. Call (850) 704-6916 and one of our nurses will speak to you to determine the best course of action.

These are trying times but we want to provide the best possible care to you and your loved ones. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions. As always, we are grateful that you have trusted us to your care and look forward to seeing you soon.
