The Emerald Coast Medical Association (ECMA) is excited to accelerate our planning for our January 16-18, 2026, CME Beach Retreat.

As we look ahead, we are issuing a Call for Proposals for exceptional speakers and cutting-edge topics that reflect the dynamic needs of today’s practicing physicians. This is your opportunity to help shape the agenda of our most anticipated event of the year, known for blending clinical excellence with energizing inspiration.

We are proud to spotlight Dr. Zachary Wilson as ECMA’s Member of the Month and a key leader shaping the upcoming 2026 CME Beach Retreat. As Medical Education Co-Chair, Dr. Wilson brings a passion for advancing physician education, a talent for identifying relevant clinical topics, and a collaborative spirit that continues to elevate ECMA’s programs. A decorated military veteran and current emergency medicine physician and flight surgeon, Dr. Wilson also serves in influential roles within the Florida Medical Association. Residing in Bluewater Bay with his family, he exemplifies leadership, service, and dedication to both his profession and community.

We’re excited to honor Dr. George Sanchez, MD, as ECMA’s June Member of the Month for his exemplary service in organized medicine and community care!

Dr. Sanchez has provided excellent care for his patients in Marianna and Bonifay for 25 years. He is also an Assistant Professor for FSU, providing instruction for students in the rural medicine track.

He enjoys teaching parents to create a healthy lifestyle for their children that will create a happy, long life. Dr. Sanchez sets a good example by focusing on exercise and sports in his free time, including jogging, golf, and tennis. He and his whole family take an annual trip to spend time together and enjoy new adventures. This typically involves a beach location, with Hawaii being one of his favorite trips.

Dr. Sanchez encourages all members to attend the Annual CME Beach Retreat. It is his favorite benefit of membership with ECMA, and he stated that the location, excellent speakers, camaraderie, and connection to colleagues are all top-notch!

😱 The FMA has learned that scammers posing as U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents have been calling physicians as part of a widespread fraud scheme to extort money or steal their personal information.
