Chris joins us from Ohio by way of Kentucky, where he studied neuroscience and began his career supporting patients with brain cancer. With a growing passion for psychiatry and a desire to improve access to care, he now focuses on treating patients with psychosis and advancing evidence-based mental health care.

Outside of the hospital, you’ll likely find Chris with a guitar in hand, performing everything from Harry Styles to Jimi Hendrix. He fell in love with California for its sense of community, nature, and opportunity to serve those most in need.

A Southern California native, Kaevon grew up in Anaheim and earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from USC. After completing his bachelor’s in neuroscience, he joined AmeriCorps, where he served at an elder care facility supporting patients with neurocognitive disorders—an experience that deepened his interest in brain health and care for vulnerable populations.

At the Keck School of Medicine, Kaevon was awarded the Dean’s Research Scholarship and conducted research in neuromodulation, contributing to studies on TMS for schizophrenia and deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease, with published work in notable journals.

Outside the hospital, Kaevon brings rhythm to life—he’s a jazz guitarist, electronic music producer, and LA-based DJ. He also enjoys cooking, playing pickup soccer, and catching Premier League matches on the weekends.
