We are currently seeing a rise in respiratory viruses in our regional emergency departments.

As always, please take proper precautions including washing hands frequently and wearing a mask, as appropriate.

Teaching your children and modeling good hand hygiene is also an important part of minimizing the spread of infectious diseases. Hand sanitizers are useful, but not replacements for routine hand washing before mealtimes, after school and after using shared spaces.

There are several types of colorectal cancer screening tests designed to find polyps or colorectal cancer.

If you’re over 45 and haven’t been screened yet, please talk to your primary care provider about which test is best for you.

While many departments and offices in the IU Health South Region will be observing holiday hours for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 1, (including the closing of IU Health Retail Pharmacy and Outpatient Lab offices), there are care options available for those who need assistance.
• IU Health Bedford, Morgan and Paoli Walk-ins are open 7 am – 3 pm.
• Riley Pediatrics—Landmark in Bloomington and Riley Pediatrics in Bedford are open 9 am – 4 pm.

The IU Health Bloomington valet service and the Olcott Nurse Navigation team will also be closed for Labor Day.

All IU Health Emergency departments and Urgent Care offices (482 S. Liberty Drive and 326 S Woodscrest Dr. in Bloomington) are open as usual.

Normal operating hours for all offices will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
