Lancaster County Osteopathic & Integrative Health

Lancaster County Osteopathic & Integrative Health We want to meet you where you are on your health journey, we will help you set health goals, and give you the tools to reach them. What does that Mean?

Those tools include osteopathic treatments, integrative medicine, and other services. At LCOIH we practice Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and Integrative Medicine. Our medical director is an Osteopathic physician Dr. Boyer, DO. Dr Eric Lake, DO is also part of the team. At LCOIH, we strive to get people healthy. We value real health by promoting education about simple nutrition, true motion and toxin management. We empower people with good sound information and help them make great choices. The body was created to heal itself. In order for that to happen 3 things need to be in place. 1. Your body needs to be moving well. This means how you are moving your body through exercise, but also how your insides move. As Osteopathic Physicians we learn how the whole body moves including: The spine, head, brain and internal organs like your liver.2. You need to lower your burden of toxins. Toxins can mean a lot of different things. Bacteria, foods, stress and some medications can serve as toxins to your body. We need to remove those or manage them.3. You need the proper nutrition. We teach people that eating real/ whole foods mean eating organic, non-GMO and minimally processed foods.

Osteopathic Medicine has their fair share of myths....here are some of the most common:

Myth #1: Osteopaths are the same as chiropractors
- While the manual techniques they do may appear similar, osteopaths are vastly different from chiropractors. Doctors of osteopathy require a medical degree, take a completely different approach to the body, and treat a wider range of issues.

Myth #2: Osteopathic Medicine isn't relevant to modern medicine
- There are more osteopathic doctors now than ever before, with over a quarter of all medical students in the U.S. studying to become DOs.

Myth #3: Osteopathic Manipulation is Only for Musculoskeletal Issues
- Osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMT)does treat neck, back, and joint pain, but it also treats a range of medical conditions and disorders as well. Osteopathic physicians are taught to incorporate manual diagnosis into their medical exams and consider the whole body when diagnosing patients.

Myth #4: Osteopathic Medicine is an alternative medicine
- This is not accurate. Osteopathic medicine is integrated into the US healthcare system and utilized alongside allopathic (which MDs learn) medicine.

Myth #5: Osteopathic Medicine isn't evidence-based
- This is completely wrong. Osteopathic medicine has been practiced for over a hundred years and is rooted in scientific research. Want to learn more? Check out our peer-reviewed medical journal here: https://aaoj.kglmeridian.com/

Hey, I am the medical director of Lancaster County Osteopathic and Integrative Health. I would love to hire another physician. Looking for a self motivated, life long learner, who loves osteopathy and people. Our office sees all ages, but alot of pregnant and newborns and children. WE practice integrative medicine through the lense of osteopathy. We put our hands on every patient. We are incredibly family oriented (our kids came to work with us for years) and can offer you part time or full time work as an employee or as an independent contractor. We can not offer you a million dollar contract but work life balance, peace of mind regarding being able to love and connect with your patients and their families, a good income adn the ability to not only control your schedule but to be a part of a bigger vision where your input matters. If interested check out the flyer email my hubby (the CFO, IT and HR coordinator) at Brad@lcoih.com
