💙 New Year, New Awareness 💙

As we step into January, it’s a powerful time to check in on how you’re really feeling during pregnancy and after birth.
Not every postpartum mood change is the same, and knowing the difference can help you get the right support:

🔹 Perinatal Depression (PPD): Persistent sadness, low energy, hopelessness, loss of interest; may last months without treatment
🔹 Perinatal Anxiety (PPA): Excessive worry, racing thoughts, panic; can interfere with daily life
🔹 Perinatal OCD (POCD): Symptoms include obsessions, compulsions, horror about obsessions, fear of being alone with baby, and hypervigilance

✨ Early recognition leads to earlier support and recovery.

And remember, perinatal mental health conditions can also include Bipolar Mood Disorders, PTSD, and Psychosis.

💙 You are not alone, and help is available.

If you need support now:
🔷 Call or text the Postpartum Support International HelpLine at 800-944-4773 (no diagnosis needed)
🔷 Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 1-833-852-6262
🔷 In a crisis, call or text 988
🔷 Download the Connect by PSI app
🔷 Visit Postpartum.net for programs and resources

✨ A new year can be the beginning of feeling better.

✨ A new space. A long-held vision. A stronger response for survivors. ✨

We are proud to share that Family Crisis Center’s Sexual Assault Support Services (SASS) program has officially relocated to a stand-alone center at 511 W. Monroe in Jonesboro.

This space was created with survivors in mind—offering a warm, trauma-informed environment where forensic exams can be completed outside of a hospital setting, and where survivors can meet with an advocate for ongoing support and healing, if they choose.

Survivors do not have to be recent victims to receive services. Individuals are welcome to meet with an advocate to talk through past trauma, explore resources, and receive support—whenever they are ready.

🩵Open and serving adults 18+
🩵 Walk-ins welcome
🩵24/7 Crisis Hotline: 870-933-9449

A grand opening and ribbon cutting will take place on April 22nd during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, but services are available now. More details regarding the grand opening will be announced at a later date.

THE VAN’S EMERGENCY SHELTER 12/14/25:

Please read it all. Good morning. The wind chill is 10* right now at 8am. It will barely get up to freezing not long before sundown and then a low tonight in the teens.

We will have a small space open in northern Pulaski County (Sherwood) for anyone who won’t/can’t enter one of the city shelters or can’t get there. If you can get yourself to Dunbar or NLR Community Center it is strongly advised that you do so.

This is not our space, we are just grateful for the opportunity to use it. It will not be the most comfortable (mats on floor) but it will be warm.

NO ID OR PAYMENT REQUIRED

***There is not a good pet plan for this space so if you have pets you’ll need to go to Dunbar or the NLR community center (yes, we’ll help you get there, but will NOT be providing rides away from the city run shelters***

We will be shuttling to this spot that The Van is operating as it’s not centrally located at all. We will shuttle back to your respective areas of the metro *midday* on Monday when it gets back up to 32*.

***For a shuttle ride, our hotline will go live today at 5pm - call/text 501-955-3444. Shuttle will park around 9pm so do not tarry***

If you are calling on behalf of someone else, PLEASE do your due diligence of having a conversation with them to be sure they want to come in before asking us to send a shuttle across town (time/fuel, help us out).

No hospital discharge pickups tonight. I’m sorry but y’all have far more resources than we do if you just have to discharge someone before normal things open back up tomorrow morning.

We are one week and one day away from getting to feed our community! We would like to give a shout out to a few local businesses that have stepped up to make sure this event is a great success.
