This was the question I was asking myself today and thought others may benefit from hearing it too!
I live my personal and professional life looking through a nervous system lens, yet, when my alarm went off and I wanted to remain wrapped up in my blankets this morning, I still found my inner voice asking, "What's wrong with you?!". This was followed by a list of things I thought I "should" be doing instead of lying in bed...
Luckily, I took a breath and asked a much more helpful question, "What if nothing is wrong with you??". This question changes perspective in a BIG way. If nothing is wrong with me, then it makes sense that I wanted to stay all warm and cozy for a few extra minutes. It makes sense that after a week that included (wonderful, but intense) training days and a kid with a fever, on top of my regular life, my system was longing for a little extra rest. It's amazing how my capacity increases and my mood is uplifted when I treat myself with kindness and care.
