Learning to eat with utensils can be frustrating, especially when you are hungry!!👎

Today we are learning how to scoop and transfer with a spoon using a 🎃 Halloween 👻 themed sensory bin! Using the spoon during play reduces frustration and increases engagement while learning necessary skills for independence!

BONUS POINTS for holding her little pumpkin while scooping for bilateral coordination training! 🤩

SANTA IS COMING TO PRIMROSE PEDIATRIC THERAPY!!

November 29th Santa will be stopping by our clinic to talk to kiddos and take pictures!
We are scheduling individual meet and greets for each kiddo! A photographer will be present for photos!

Individual appointments will limit wait time and allow for each child to have their special moment without being rushed or overstimulated.

Our PPT clients will have first opportunity to sign up this week before we open it up to the public for any remaining times on November 3rd.

If you would like to schedule a time for your child, please give our office a call!

🌻 This week is Invisible Disabilities Week 🌻

A reminder that you can’t always see someone’s disability.
Around 80–85% of disabilities are invisible. Autism, sensory needs, chronic health conditions… they’re not always obvious to the eye.

My son is profoundly autistic and non-speaking.
But because he doesn’t “look disabled,” we get judged a lot.

We’ve had people comment.
We’ve been asked why we’re parked in a disabled bay.
We get the looks, the stares, the comments all because people assume what disability should look like.

The truth is, most disabilities aren’t visible.
You don’t see the challenges, the effort it takes to get through certain situations, or the sensory overwhelm that can appear out of nowhere.

It hurts sometimes, if I’m honest.
Because behind those looks is a child doing his absolute best in a world that often doesn’t make sense to him.

So please next time you see a family in a disabled bay, or a child struggling in public don’t judge.

Just be kind.

You never know what someone is dealing with.
