Day #7 of Nursing Home Week began bright and early as our 7p–7a team was treated to breakfast sandwiches before heading off to Ahava Beach: “Anchored in Love.” 🏖️

When we arrived, the sunshine was shining bright, the sound of the waves filled the air, and everyone enjoyed the feeling of sand between their toes. Residents and staff soaked up the beach vibes. We competed in beach ball games, built sandcastles, and sang karaoke to keep the party going! Everyone enjoyed delicious BBQ meatballs on a stick and refreshing smoothies! ☀️🏜️🎤

What an incredible way to close out an unforgettable week! The smiles, laughter, music, and togetherness made this celebration truly special. We are so blessed to have the most amazing residents, supportive families, and dedicated staff. Every department came together to make Nursing Home Week a success, showing the true meaning of teamwork. 💙

Throughout the week, 70 residents, more than 200 family members, and 116 staff members participated in the fun and festivities. That’s more than a celebration, that’s a family coming together to create joy, memories, and moments that will last a lifetime.

Day six of Nursing Home Week was all about our Wet & Wild Day! ☀️

The Life Enrichment Department kicked off the morning by preparing delicious breakfast sandwiches for our hardworking night owls on the 7p–7a shift. Then the real splash of fun began as everyone headed outside to enjoy water games under the beautiful sunshine. Laughter filled the air as staff and residents cooled off and competed in exciting games, and yes, several employees got soaked!

The Pineapple Team claimed victory in the cup race, while the sponge soaking competition ended in a tie between the Pineapples and the Watermelons. Residents especially loved getting in on the action by squirting the staff and creating memories filled with laughter, sunshine, and lots of fun for all. 🌊🍍🍉

To top off the day, everyone enjoyed making their own delicious banana splits with all their favorite toppings. It was the perfect ending to a fun-filled, wet, and wild day! 🍌🍨

Day five of Nursing Home Week began with a fun shopping trip for our residents before the excitement continued with our “Double Trouble” fun and games! 🤩🤩

Residents, families, and staff came together for friendly competition in co****le, hula hooping, and the hilarious Double Trouble Tw***ie Toss. Everyone enjoyed soaking up the sunshine, fresh air, and beautiful weather while cheering each other on!

From matching outfits to nonstop smiles and lighthearted competition, the day was memorable and so much fun. Congratulations to our co****le champions, Stacy Smith and Mike Wallace, for taking the win! 🏆

For day 4 of Nursing Home Week, we celebrated Wild Western Day! The day started with Bible Study at the barn with Brother Ricky, followed by delicious Bar-B-Que nachos. 🤠

After lunch, the excitement kicked off with staff horse races, followed by the residents taking their turn. Everyone gathered around cheering loudly for their favorite horse and jockey as laughter rang through the barn with so much joy and excitement. 🐴

After the horse racing, it was time for a fun and friendly game of Barnyard Bingo before we trotted outside for wheelbarrow races. In the middle of the race, chaos struck when our horses were suddenly “stolen” by thieves! Everyone became suspects, leading to playful accusations, surprise arrests, and lots of Wild West laughter and fun. At the end of the day, Sheriff Antonio was recognized by the Life Enrichment Department for a job well done. 🚨

We celebrated Day 3 of Nursing Home Week with our “Holiday Swag” celebration! 🎄🐣🇺🇸

Residents and staff had a festive time showing off their holiday spirit during our holiday photo shoot. We also had fun guessing the weight of the cling wrap ball, but the real competition began once the game started. There was plenty of playful cheating, nonstop laughter, and so much fun shared by all! The rivalry also heated up as the Deer and Rabbits faced off while playing a game of spades. 📸♠️

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by Rachael, our DON, and the Life Enrichment team. This evening, we were blessed with good old-fashioned singing and fellowship from Friendship Baptist Church. The music brought so much joy to our residents and staff! All around we had an awesome day! 🤗

We celebrated Day 2 of Nursing Home Week with a wild and hilariously chaotic Mystery Monday!

We kicked off the morning with delicious breakfast sandwiches served by our amazing Plant Ops and Life Enrichment Departments. From there, the mystery unfolded as our “Inspectors” searched high and low for clues. After questioning residents and staff, the fugitive was finally apprehended in the parking lot. To everyone’s surprise, it was our Director of Nursing, Rachel! 🍳🕵🏼🫆

But the chaos was just getting started…

About a month ago, our Life Enrichment Director asked a simple question to several of our men: would they participate in an activity during Nursing Home Week? The only allowed answers were yes or no, with no questions asked. Little did they know, they had just signed up for our “Woman Beauty Revue.”

The contestants had no idea what was coming until lunchtime today, and the reactions were priceless. Our fabulous contestants included Ms. Jazzy Jezebel, Ms. Jewel Wren Blimgston, Ms. LeAnna Marie, Ms. Foxy Felicia, Ms. Señorita Sizzle, Ms. Maybelline Faye Wallace, Ms. Cotton Candy, Ms. Sugar Lips Louise, Ms. Clara Craig, and Ms. Organic Opal Jean.

Each contestant brought laughter, personality, and plenty of sass to the stage. While everyone was truly a winner, Ms. Clara Craig was crowned our Queen! 👑
We laughed until we cried, full belly laughs all around.

A huge thank you to all the staff who adopted contestants, helped with makeovers, outfits, and makeup, and brought this unforgettable event to life. What a fun, chaotic, and absolutely memorable day at Henry County Health & Rehab! 😂💋💄

Today, we kicked off National SNF Week by putting our wonderful mothers in the spotlight! 💐

We were blessed to capture beautiful family moments during our Family Photo Shoot, hear incredible stories, and snap a very special 5-generation photo.

All of the mothers looked absolutely beautiful and enjoyed a truly special day surrounded by their loved ones. Everyone enjoyed charcuterie cups and punch while watching a heartfelt video highlighting our moms throughout the year. We shared laughs, some happy tears, and made many precious memories.

We were honored to welcome nearly 200 family members to visit and celebrate their loved ones. What a true blessing it is to call these amazing residents and families part of our own family! 💕
