We are pleased to announce the opening of Solara Vets–Paris, an after-hours and weekend emergency animal hospital serving Paris and the surrounding communities. We will officially open on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Solara Vets–Paris will provide emergency veterinary care Monday through Friday from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, and 24/7 coverage on weekends. Our hospital is staffed by experienced emergency veterinarians and skilled veterinary technicians dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate emergency care. Located within Lamar Veterinary Clinic, Solara Vets–Paris is independently owned and operated and is committed to supporting primary care veterinarians when patients require urgent or emergent care outside of regular business hours. Our address is 850 NE Loop 286, Paris, TX 75460, and our telephone number is 903-401-2230. Our phone line is answered 24/7 by trained veterinary technicians who carefully triage each case to help determine whether a patient is experiencing a true emergency or if the concern can safely wait to be seen by the primary care veterinarian. 🚨 Parvo Alert for Dog Owners

Parvovirus treatment is very expensive and can require intensive hospitalization. The good news? Vaccinating your dog through a licensed veterinarian isn’t just protection — it can also act as a form of financial safety net.

Many major vaccine manufacturers offer treatment reimbursement guarantees when vaccines are administered properly by a veterinarian and kept up to date. That means staying current on vaccines may help protect both your dog’s life and your wallet.

🐶 Puppies Need a Series to Be Protected

Your puppy is NOT fully vaccinated after one shot.
To be considered fully vaccinated against Parvo, puppies need:

✔️ 3 Parvo vaccines
✔️ Given 2–3 weeks apart
✔️ Followed by timely boosters as recommended by your veterinarian

Adult dogs must also stay up to date on boosters to maintain protection.

If your dog is:
• Not fully vaccinated
• Overdue for boosters
• Or you’re unsure of their status

📞 Call your veterinarian on Monday and schedule an appointment.

Parvo is preventable. Early protection is far less costly — financially and emotionally — than treatment.

Happy Lunar New Year! 🧧🎊

Today we welcome the Year of the Horse — a symbol of strength, freedom, perseverance, and boundless energy.

The Horse represents determination, independence, and the courage to keep moving forward even when the road is long. Those qualities resonate deeply with us.

Running a privately owned veterinary hospital in a world increasingly filled with corporately owned practices takes heart. It takes resilience. It takes long hours, tough decisions, and a deep commitment to staying true to your values. It also allows the freedom to put patients first, to build genuine relationships, and to care for our community in a way that reflects who we are.

This year, we’re embracing the spirit of the Horse:
✨ Strength to face challenges
✨ Freedom to practice medicine with integrity
✨ Perseverance through long days and hard cases
✨ Energy to keep showing up for the pets and families who trust us

To our clients, team members, and community — thank you for supporting locally owned veterinary care. Your trust allows us to continue doing what we love, the way we believe it should be done.

Wishing you a year filled with health, joy, prosperity, and forward momentum. 🐎✨

This weekend in the ER was a tough one.

We cared for several critically injured and gravely ill patients—beloved family members whose stories did not all end the way we hoped. Emergency medicine is unpredictable and intense. One minute we may be performing CPR, fighting with everything we have to save a life. The next, we have to take a breath, gather ourselves, and step into another room where another patient is waiting for care.

It’s a balance that’s hard to describe unless you’ve lived it.

We are incredibly grateful to be able to provide emergency veterinary services to our community. Access to urgent and critical care matters. When seconds count, your pets deserve a team ready to act. We are proud to be that team.

But we also want to gently share something important: when outcomes aren’t what anyone hoped for, it’s not only devastating for the families who loved those pets — it is deeply painful for us, too. We don’t walk away untouched. We carry those moments with us.

Emergency medicine is not easy. It requires clinical skill, quick decision-making, and emotional resilience. Not every veterinary professional is called to this work. Those who are, choose it because we care deeply — about every patient, every family, every outcome.

We want every single pet to go home healed and happy. Unfortunately, that’s not always the reality in emergency medicine.

Please remember that behind the scrubs and stethoscopes are humans. We feel the weight of loss. We celebrate the victories. We replay the hard cases. We grieve with you.

To the families who trusted us with your pets this weekend — thank you. And to our team, who showed up with strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication — we see you.

Be kind to one another. Hug your pets a little closer tonight. ❤️

🎶 “Come give me a call…” 🎶

But make it urgent… and furry. 🐾

If your pet is acting strange, not eating, limping, vomiting, or just not themselves — don’t wait and wonder. Don’t Google and stress. Don’t “see how they are in the morning.”

📞 Come give us a call.

🍕 Happy National Pizza Day! 🍕
Yes… we know. All the pizza mysteriously disappeared yesterday during the Super Bowl 😅🏈

But before you grab that leftover slice (or crust 👀), a friendly reminder: keep pizza far, far away from your dog.

❌ Fatty cheese, greasy meats, and seasonings can upset their stomach
💩 At minimum: diarrhea
⚠️ At worst: pancreatitis, which can be severe and even life-threatening if enough is eaten

So enjoy your pizza memories (or your next slice) — just make sure your pup sticks to dog-safe treats only. 🐾❤️

When in doubt, keep it out of snout. 🐶🍕
