"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” — Margaret J. Wheatley
The last few weeks have been tragic and stressful in this country. If you're feeling scared, hopeless, angry, number, or any of the range of emotions that come when experiencing or witnessing horror, you aren't alone.
Our power comes when we stand together for what matters to us. The health and wellness of our society depends on standing up for the inherent dignity and worth of all humans, and especially those threatened directly by authoritarianism and hate.
When things get dark, like they have been lately, I remember that our nation has always grappled with darkness. Long stretches of our history have seen people enslaved, terrorized, marginalized, and disenfranchised. And while change has never been fast enough, or complete in its justice, it's always depended on the people taking a stand for what they care about.
I believe in the power of our voices and our actions to move our country towards justice.
