🔴 March 3, 2026 — A Rare Blood Moon Rises!

We’re about to witness something special. On March 3, the Full Worm Moon will pass directly into Earth’s shadow, transforming into a deep red Blood Moon during a total lunar eclipse. And after this one, we won’t see another total lunar eclipse again until the end of 2028.

🌎 For skywatchers in North America, this will unfold before sunrise. The eclipse begins in the early morning hours, with totality lasting just under an hour. If you're farther west, you’ll see the Moon high in a dark sky glowing crimson. On the East Coast, the fully eclipsed Moon will be setting as dawn begins to brighten the horizon — a breathtaking and unusual sight.

🌍 For those in East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, you get the best view. The Moon will rise already in total eclipse, appearing red right from the moment it clears the horizon in the evening sky.

No telescope needed. Just step outside and look toward the Moon near the constellation Leo, with bright Regulus nearby.
This is one of the most dramatic sights the night sky can offer.
