At CHI St. Joseph's Health, we're dedicated to bringing humankindness to every interaction. We understand that new experiences, especially medical ones, can be overwhelming for children with autism and their families.

That's why we offer a unique opportunity for families to schedule a "pre-visit" to our Emergency Department. In partnership with North Memorial Health Ambulance, this service helps us ensure a smoother experience should emergency care ever be needed.

During a pre-visit, your child can:
- Meet our friendly nurses and paramedics.
- Tour the waiting room, exam rooms, and even an ambulance!
- Become familiar with the sights, sounds, and smells of the ED in a calm environment.
- See our special Sensory Emergency Kit designed to help during care.

Our aim is to empower children, reduce anxiety, and provide peace of mind for caregivers, knowing our ED and EMS teams are prepared for unique needs.
