MYTH: “Therapy is a sign of weakness.”

The truth is that emotional intelligence includes recognizing when you need support and having the courage to ask for it.

Therapy is a medical service — just like visiting your doctor, chiropractor, or another healthcare provider. It’s one of many ways people maintain their health and wellness.

At our practice, we believe caring for your mental health is a proactive and empowering step, not something to feel ashamed of. Seeking support is a sign of strength, self-awareness, and growth.

You deserve support before burnout, crisis, or overwhelm.

Today’s reminder: you can care deeply and still protect your mental health. 💚

Boundaries are not selfish.
Rest is not weakness.
Healing is not linear.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself and extend yourself the same compassion you give others.

Whether you’re navigating stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, or simply trying to find balance — support matters, and you do not have to face it alone.

Stress is something we all experience — just in different ways. 💙

During National Stress Awareness Month, remember that caring for yourself can start small.

✨ Taking a short walk
✨ Drinking more water
✨ Putting your phone down for a few minutes
✨ Asking for help
✨ Giving yourself grace on hard days

Small steps still matter, and you don’t have to do it all at once. 🌿

Myth #6: “Therapy is just for ‘crazy’ people.”

Truth: Most people in therapy are living everyday lives — working, parenting, building relationships, and managing responsibilities. Therapy isn’t about being “crazy”; it’s about growth, support, and learning how to use your strengths to improve your quality of life.

We all experience difficult seasons, overwhelming emotions, stress, or moments where life feels heavy. Seeking therapy is a sign of self-awareness and courage, not weakness.

When we allow ourselves to hope for more — healthier relationships, better coping skills, greater peace, more confidence — we create the opportunity for real change.

Therapy helps you build on the strengths you already have so you can live a fuller, healthier life. 💙

Vulnerability is often misunderstood as weakness—but in reality, it’s one of the greatest strengths we can have.

Being vulnerable means allowing yourself to be seen, heard, and understood. It takes courage to open up about struggles, to ask for help, and to share your true thoughts and feelings. That kind of honesty builds deeper connections, fosters trust, and creates space for healing.

When we embrace vulnerability, we give ourselves permission to be human. We move away from perfection and toward authenticity. And in that space, real growth happens.

At GroupWorks, we believe that strength isn’t about “having it all together”—it’s about showing up as you are, even when it’s hard.

If you’re struggling, you don’t have to do it alone. Reaching out is not a sign of weakness—it’s a powerful first step toward wellness.

Myth #5: Therapy Requires Medication

A lot of people worry that starting therapy means they’ll be pushed to take medication.

That’s not how it works.

Therapy is about talking, learning new skills, and finding what works best for you. Our therapists don’t prescribe medication.

Sometimes medication can be helpful, and if that’s something you want to explore, we can connect you with a psychiatrist—but it’s always your decision.

No pressure. Just support.

🌎 Earth Day can be more than appreciation—it can be a reset.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, try this simple grounding exercise using the world around you.

Nature gives us built-in tools to slow down, reconnect, and come back to the present moment.

You don’t have to go far—even a window view, a patch of grass, or a few deep breaths of fresh air can help.

We’re here to support your mental health today and every day. 💚
